The part of his personal identity that's tied to the xbox's success won't be threatened if it can juuuuust last until then. 3D camera control is nice, but not what i'm talking about. I'm talking taking the Tales series and giving it the Xenoblade Chronicles treatment, with open areas, battles taking place in real time. You could streamline the gameplay by removing outdated designs like removing the battle transition screen.

I don't think Switch's RAM is the reason a Tales of game feels outdated. It's going to feel outdated for the same reason all other middling JRPGs feel outdated: their design never changes.

Hypothetically, yeah. I can see that. But from a business perspective it doesn't make much sense to me. Why chase VR when your switch is destroying every VR device out there, combined? I'd much rather they just release a HH-only Switch with joycons built in at a lower price point. Sure, it defeats the purpose of the Switch, but it'd do better than a VR headset, that's for damn sure.

At that point it's just a stand-alone VR unit. There's no point in that. Even the Vive and Oculus have trouble securing content; Nintendo would be shit out of luck. Going after VR would be a vanity project for Nintendo at best.

The last thing VR needs to be successful is "headset and switch sold separately". It's GBA->GC connectivity all over again.

As far as I know, there aren't any gyroscopes in the Switch tablet itself, so unless they're going to release a Labo headset that holds one joycon in it to track head movement, I doubt they're going to do this. It'd be a side-project at best.
