  1. Been playing a ton of season 9 of Project Diablo 2. One of the best fan made mods I can think of and it's really been gaining steam the last few seasons, probably more players online than D2R. They've done a great job expanding on the original game - added a ton of items/crafting, bunch of end game content, some new mechanics (corrupting probably being the big one) and really increasing the build variety by buffing some less powerful abilities. They also do a good job of shifting the meta every season.
  2. You guys sure are arguing a lot over some 72 metacritic barely game.
  3. This is more a problem with new school diablo tbh. Diablo 2 has a lot of loot but it's very easy to parse what is and isn't worth picking up.
  4. I'd say so. I think it depends if you're in the mood for a survival/building game. It's definitely a slower process if you play it solo.
  5. They've added a couple biomes since release and a bunch of items/building related stuff. It's a fun game, especially if you have a group.
  6. Yeah I mean it just makes way more sense to compare Digital vs. Physical sales for things that offer both. You'll obviously never buy a microtransaction or a subscription physically. Everyone knows that a higher percentage of overall $$ is being spent on those YoY. So tell me, of games that are available physically and digitally, percentage splits. Probably varies a lot by console too, I'm sure Nintendo has a much higher % of physical than Sony, and Sony much higher than MS.
  7. So he's counting subscriptions, microtransactions, etc etc? I mean, makes sense. Will suck when physical finally does go away.
  8. cant be worse than the recent bethesda games
  9. I dunno, 7 was definitely huge, 10 was pretty big. It's certainly the biggest JRPG series, especially in the West. It's extremely important and popular in core gaming circles and online. I doubt your average western gamer could name a main FF character outside of Cloud, maybe Tidus. There's a reason FF7 is being remade with a huge budget and 3 parts and the other ones get poor HD rereleases at best. Regardless, I don't really disagree with what you're saying. I do think Square put themselves in a difficult spot. Since FF7, mainline FF games have always represented the big budget,
  10. I think you're overselling how big FF ever has been tbh. Yeah, FF7 was the biggest of the bunch but it's hardly a huge series and a lot of the sales of the big ones can be attributed to Japan who wouldn't be buying this regardless of the platform. Also wtf we mean by "Final Fantasy used to be a multiplatofrm series at launch". Literally two of the mainline games (specifically the worst two) were ever multiplat at launch. Rebirth probably would have benefited from being on PC day one, but Xbox wouldn't have moved the needle and the effort/$ used to\get it to run on Serie
  11. finally grabbed this today. only a few hours in but so far really liking it. it's definitely rough around the edges but it's also doing a lot of interesting things and has a satisfying gameplay loop, some of the dynamic aspects of the game are clearly a bit prone to weird things/bugs happening but it also makes for a really enjoyable and unique experience. it's a gamey ass game and if it continues along this way ill take that over some overproduced homogenized trash like ragnarok.
  12. DD2 is the next big game for me but mostly just some pallet cleansing after finishing Rebirth. Also need to get around to IW and Unicorn Overlord... Circled back to Mario Wonder the last couple days. Just going back through levels where I missed a purple coin/exit/seed the first time through. It really is a fantastic game, my big complaint is still that it lacks the level of difficulty I like to see in a platformer - which is a shame since it would be a fantastic base for that....controls are perfect and I really enjoy the aesthetic. The only levels that really get challenging are
  13. Good timing for me, though I certainly won't be getting a 5090. Planning a CPU upgrade here soon, 10600 is getting a little old and definitely bottlenecking me right now (3080ti 12gb). I'll probably get a 7800X3D, see where that puts me performance wise. I'm at 1440p and will be for a long time still, so if I do upgrade it'll probably be to a 5070 or 5080, depending how those turn out. I'd probably just go for whatever hits 16gb tbh.
