Im on chapter 4 i think in the gears expansion. I do like that the environments are a lot more varied than your typical gears game and the characters are ok. Its pretty action packed so far but i think playing this co op would make it much more fun. Very good so far but i wish with this expansion they would have made it more non gears like to see how people liked it cause i dont want the next gears game to just be gears again....even tho ill play and like it if it is.

Yea, it jumps off into the Escape MP mode. I think it took me around 5h as well. Maybe 4 and some change. I explored around the environments a bit for the collectables though and died a few times, but yea.. definitely going to be running through it again as a different character.

I mean, I do check my phone often, when I game. Also, you can probably blast through it in 3 if you just go from point A to B. But I genuinely enjoyed taking in the visuals and looking for collectibles. Artistically, it’s the best looking game in the franchise, by far -which says a lot, considering I’m usually not a fan of its style.

The nice thing about GOG is that you can easily roll back to the 1.04 version of the game if you do encounter that bug. Theres a way to do it on the steam version, but its a really longwinded and annoying workaround. Im just going to go with the flow and hope they patch it again. Its annoying that it would happen to such an important quest...

Yea. Even the variety in this short DLC is far better than Gears has been in a while. You have tropical jungle, a sandy beach, industrial complex, underground lava caves, and more. I love that they're going more colorful with Gears instead of the always grey/brown looking stuff we had before.

Yeah bro, I’m actually looking forward to 6 now. This expansion is a tight and fun gears experience. All of the fat has been trimmed. And I like these new characters. They are dudebro af, even the chick, but it’s very gears 1.

Yes, I absolutely agree. The lava itself should have been better. It was flat looking and plain compared to everything else.. like you said. The lava could have used more splashing and better flowing animations definitely. The particles, lighting, and all the other stuff though looked awesome. Yea, I'm really quite pleased with the DLC. Now that Rod Fergusson is gone, hopefully Gears 6 changes up the gameplay a bit more and has more awesome set pieces like this expansion does. Definitely more of a Gears 1 vibe as you said.
