  1. I decided to start the new year by going for another IT certification so I haven't been gaming as much. I rarely go through extended periods where I don't feel like playing anything tho.

  2. Microsoft has found some way to actually MISMANAGE and disenfranchise employees from their best, and most consistent studio. They overworked them on something that they don't think is worth the effort. And, chances are, when Microsoft told them "okay, we'll have you work on something new.....FABLE!" They were like "hell naw". This is the byproduct mis-management.

  4. It's because you're playing on xbox clown Really though I don't play that often but when I do I find indie games more fun. I've mentioned in here recently I'm nostalgic for the PS2 era. Modern games are too concerned with immersing you in a virtual world, a virtual second life. They can be slow and full of padding. When you play a game from the PS2 era you're into the action much sooner, the games focus more on gameplay than building a virtual world. I can enjoy an AAA budget 30 hour open world game from time to time but you need to set aside a fair bit of time

  7. I definitely play games as an escape. The Mass Effect trilogy and the Persona games got me through some fucked up shit when I needed a distraction.

  8. Bethesda Game Studios is probably fucked after Starfield. Even if it's successful their business model of a game every 4 years is not gonna work with Gamepass. MS is gonna want iterable content. Obsidian is better able to finish A and AA games like they did on PC after New Vegas.

  9. I bet Todd Howard negotiated provisions that still give him alot of autonomy. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if Todd Howard was/is a stakeholder in Zenimax, and when Microsoft bought them out, Todd Howard received a chunk of that $7 billion payout. I bet he wants to see Stafield completed. The rumor a couple of years ago was that the next Elder Scrolls was in fact going to be the entire land of Tamriel. If that's true, do I expect Todd Howard to stay there to oversee that? Part of me thinks that the Elder Scrolls is his original baby,

  10. They're terrible at managing their IPs and studios. That's what you get for being a play it safe, soulless corporation that see studios as cookie cutter games factories. That also speak volumes of they think of their fanbase and gaming consumers at large. How long until they manage to mess up Bethesda, Obsidian and all the other recent acquisitions. I just hope they learned something but that's very doubtful considering they haven't changed course since they bought Rare from Nintendo. lmao

  11. Sad thing is that these retards are the ones that lemshits want to take consolidate the industry. They can't even manage their best studio. How the fuck are they supposed to manage the biggest publisher in the industry, Activision? It's only a matter of time before they run Bathesda into the ground and lemshits want them to acquire every major publisher out there so that we run into a second videogame crash. I keep saying it but lemshits aren't gamers. Bunch of corporate dick-suckers who don't give a shit about gaming and only wanna deepthroat they favorite corporate

  14. I go in phases too but when it is a gaming phase I do it cause of everything else that goes on during daily life. Between work, family, house and all the duties that involves I use gaming as my little time at the very end of a day (when possible) to recharge. Sometimes it's other hobbies but I never feel guilty about ever doing any of them. I've went through stages where it has been just endless 'life' and the drain and toll builds.

  15. Thanks man. So many people think IT is easy going but its the opposite. its competitive as fuck and its impossible to stand out unless you have a graduate's degree or you have a bunch of specialized certs. I've been spinning my wheels for a while now but I know I have the knowledge and capability to get a better position.

  18. This is me but there's almost always something really good getting edged out. Like the worst I could be doing is Prey (2017) in my backlog/steam, which most people say is a gem. I got stuff way higher in the list than that. And even when there's not new hotness like Elden Ring or God of War, I usually have some multiplayer game I'm on regularly. I basically never stopped playing Rocket League since it launched. And now with the Steam deck, I'm digging into more indies. Cult of the Lamb was a big one. Spelunky 2 is always in the mix.

  20. I do short manageable sessions when I’m free. The trick is not to play for hours on end everyday. When I’m busy or work gets in the way I don’t game at all. I don’t try to finish every new game as quickly as possible because I know my schedule doesn’t allow me so I take my time and slowly finish games.

  21. i think the best mindset is to not have that feeling that you have to play everything. just play the occasional title that looks interesting....or replay older games that you enjoyed.

  25. The way I would describe it is it feels like the enemies are made out of steel. The feedback, the amount of hits they take, the sound effects, it's like you're hitting solid steel. My biggest probpem is how spongey each and every enemy feels. The mini-bosses omfg set 30 minutes aside for these! even with everything upgraded, and if you choose to prioritize strength everything feels like they take far more hits than they should. Its like the difficulty in the game comes from keeping concentration, you hit, you dodge their attacks, repeat, but by the 30 minute mark on the mini bosses I find mys
