I went back and played the original in an emulator. Very quickly you're into the game, there's no forced Gears style walking segments. It's fast, fluid and most importantly it's actually fun! its rare I feel "fun" in a lot of modern AAA games, we really lost something special in the modern era. Most games now just hand you an open world and a checklist to cross off.
I pretty much have the haunted house segment at the beginning completely memorized. What a incredible start to the game I remember playing through it for the first time and immediately knowing that the game was going to be phenomenal.
I guess reaching the age where everyone that's always been around you start to die and get sick is the worst part

I watched Devotion. I was pretty excited to see this because of how rare it is to see war movies about the Korean War. And the fact that this is based on a true story just sweetens the deal.
Unfortunately, the moving is incredibly slow and definitely does not make the most of its 2 hour and 20 minute runtime. The first half in particular has some pretty grueling pacing issues and there are so many scenes that present sub plots and try to develop the characters but they feel detached from the main story and ultimately just end up coming off as a waste of time.
