This is the problem with Microsoft. When things like this happen, its just a forumula-driven across the board cuts, that affect every single group. People should absolutely be scared that Microsoft would close entire dev teams that have worked solely on an IP. I thought that too at first but its been 15 years since the original game and this one is making enough changes that it will probably feel like a somewhat fresh experience (plus it'll be good for washing the bad taste in my mouth left by Callisto Protocol).

Some of these games have also benefitted from 15 years of software optimizations and would run better on 360/PS3 if there was any reason to update them.

yep. microsoft is poison for the industry. they've been buying studios and ruining everything about them for decades now, it started with Rare. can't think of a single Ip that's improved after coming under MS control.
