I genuinely can't believe Microsoft/Bethesda/Arkane put this out. The AI in Deathloop was bad, but bad in that it didn't provide a challenge. Luring enemies into chokepoints and just blasting a huge group as they funnel in 1 by 1 is lame for a AAA game, but at least you needed to break line of sight to make it happen. In Redfall I'm on some scaffolding outside of a house with my flashlight on, taking pot shots at enemies 20 feet away from me, and they don't even see me. They just go into their "what was that" state and run towards the ladder.

The only thing I disagree with is this "year long drought" line. Lemmings want you to believe its only been a year but in truth it has been much longer. From my count it has been 10 years since their last AAA exclusive, and forza rehashes aside they've had pretty much nothing in those 10 years. Flops like sea of thieves, grounded, state of decay and crackdown don't count - those aren't real games, merely Gamepass filler.

I'm really happy with this one, Zephyrus G15. It's the lowest tier model: 512GB pcie4 SSD included and 8+8GB ram. I already added 2TB nvme. Eventually I'll swap in a 32GB dimm for 40GB. The CPU is a beast. I'm not a fan of Gaming PCs with huge vents out the back and crazy RGB lighting. This one is slick by comparison. The fan noise can get crazy during gaming tho.

It's better than that. Plays Atomic Heart and Darktide smoothly on high settings.

Hmm, yeah I think you'll dig it then. Density is 100% there and variety. I haven't done enough shrines yet, but I feel like the new abilities will lend htemselves to solving that problem. Combat, I don't think you'll change your opinion on. Still easy, but super fun using new combinations with fuse and that.

Not much has changed with PC gaming

I really do think it's Game Pass. The incentive for MS is not huge 5+ year development cycles as Starfield. They really just need a conveyor belt of AA content. I think Arkane went into Red Fall with a lower budget in mind but they've never done a game like that before.
