The series is actually one of the most banned books world wide. It's not really an issue as alot of places it's a soft ban. Where schools and libraries won't have them but it's not an offense if kids have their own with them.

No one would buy mid budget games at 60$/70$ on PS5/Xbox/PC. Sheep have 0 standards and doesn't care. Soccer mom is perfectly okay with paying 60$ for Mario Kart 8 in 2023, which I played on WiiU back in 2014. 

 

The Nintendo fanbase is compromised of some of the clueless consumers you can find AND some of the most zealot fanboys willing to die on a hill at the same time. Neither care about the typical perceived value of games. They'll gobble up anything, full price. It's a phenomenon that doesn't exist in the same quantity with MS, Sony and even less on PC.

IDGAF about graphics or production values and I'm very aware indie games would perform ideally on current gen hardware. Yes, good graphics are great but for developers who are not producing power house presentations in their games, competing on high end consoles might not work in their favor. 

I'm just assuming of course but I'm Sony will welcome any game and no publishers want to leave money on the table. So if they are avoiding a best selling console they have to have prudent reasons to. 

I could be wrong but my assumption is the cost of development, benefits/liabilities of the various hardware, market place, legacy sales, and user demographics play the biggest part in where an idle or small developer would go. 

The Switch isn't just a successor to the Wii but also their entire handheld console market, which massive and floated the company for years. The types of games that would be on a modern DS, are on the Switch.

this is what I told him over a year ago and is what started all of these back and forths. That "my beliefs are infallible, therefore they're facts." even on topics he knows nothing about mentality of his. 

It was inevitable, the people who play those games most likely are the Nintendo market. When Nintendo consolidated their portable and home console market they basically dragged the Gameboy/DS gamers with them. 

My gf is more of a gamer than I am and she plays all of those rpg type games on the switch and none of them seem like games you'd need a 4k console to play. 

Its probably not worth the cost of developing those games for ps4 and 5 for a little return.

That's not entirely fair. One thing Nintendo does well is work within their lane. AAA studios are too busy making broken games with dodgy performances in order meet the high end development trap while Nintendo isn't trying to make the hardware's knees buckle trying to run a game at suboptimal performance. 

If a game looks good but runs at a shitty frame rate, it should probably look less good in order to run smoothly. Every game doesn’t need to tap hardware out. In the past when games took performance hits, it was because they were originally designed for arcade hardware then ported to much weaker home consoles. 

For years now these people have been developing games for established hardware from the ground up and still having problems. 

I also want to add how easy conservatives find it to call people pedophiles and groomers based on nothing, can never concede that a man abused a woman and go out of their way to protect the accused man.

That's not really the point, the majority of currently banned books aren't banned by woke leftist, they are banned because "adult themes". There are a few for racism here and there but more seem to be banned because conservative concerns than "woke" ones. 

It's not an easy answer, there's no single - clear cut - up to date list but after digging through several credible sites that have cataloged banned or "challenged" titles, none of what you are saying is true or even close to it.

Another lie. I looked up the most banned or requested books for banning in Canada and it's mostly conservatives. Definitely way less books than the US, but famously the Harry Potter books are high on the list, for witchcraft. The Golden Compass because of its atheist views.

Most Canadian book bans seem to be due to offensive langue or drug use/sexual content. 

There were only a few books for "racism", including the autobiography of Malcom... For being racially insensitive to white people.
