Also this comparison is unfair. Starfield is on Gamepass and on two platforms. FFXVI on PS5 only. And the last time Square made a game that was as commercially successful as Bethesda was back in 1997. FF7 Remake was successful but also came out during Covid when everyone was a prisoner in their own home.

Everyone on SW who actually played FFXVI HATED it. I haven't heard anything good about it.

This kind of shit is fucking awful for resellers. Gosh, I think I would just refuse to buy Xbox Series X games. Not to mention, even if all the content is on the disc, most games have day one patches and are still buggy, so what's on the disc is basically a beta full of bugs.

Octopath 2 is good. DioField Chronicles is great. The last Star Ocean seemed alright but I barely played it due to bad performance on my PC. They're so scared with their main projects, they want to appeal to a huge demographic but it comes off as lame JRPG. KH4, whenever that is coming out will most likely suck as well.

I called out the two biggest flop this year and I was barely paying attention. Square is a terrible dev, period. So no surprise.

You should. Just don't play it with the turn based mode. It's pretty bad, imo. Active time with pausing is the best way to play these games, it's much faster.
