I watched The Shape of Water. Theres some good stuff towards the end, but overall i found it to be kind of pretentious and it definitely gives off the 'oscar bait' type of vibe.

and....that's why i didn't bother with it. it just always looked awful to me.  i haven't loved anything from the del toro since pan's. crimson peak is a perfect example of his recent work: gorgeous film with bland substance.

So here’s my quick review of hereditary:   1. It’s nowhere near being the scariest movie ever. It’s more of an unsettling thriller.    2. It’s surprisingly unpredictable. The trail

my mini review of mother:   I finally saw the movie Mother. I think it’s a better work of art, and conversation piece, than it is a film. The symbolism and metaphors are fantastic, and it wa

soooo....i wrapped up jessica jones season 2.

a few notes:

1. its peak was definitely episode 7

2. it would have been much better if it had been edited down into 8 eps instead of 13  (some episodes really drag)

3. mediocre subplots

4. i liked its unconventional "villain"

5. some great acting between jessica and the antagonist

6. some fantastic revelations (again, why ep 7 was so great)

overall review - 7 (10/10 for ep 7)

Yeah the weird thing is that i didn't even find the movie's visuals to be that impressive. its just a standard 60s aesthetic and the creature design was just lame.

That's actually the show i meant when I typed Gomorrah.  Suburra.  Durr.

Agreed, highly under looked crime/mafia drama.

after months of waiting, i finally got to see (and own) this gem.

this is the best throwback to 80's b-slasher gorefests i've seen. there's one scene that made me laugh so hard- and i'm questioning my sanity for laughing.  it's fucked up.

anyhow, for those who love torture porn and/or 80's campy horror, give it a watch!

A Ghost Story is pretty good.  Wasn't really sure about bothering with it since some of the images make it look a bit silly but I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a film that tells a story with very little dialogue.
