Florida is finally getting around to admitting that Russia had hacked into Florida election database systems prior to the 2016.

DeSantis: Russians accessed 2 Florida voting databases

By BRENDAN FARRINGTON

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Russian hackers gained access to voter databases in two Florida counties ahead of the 2016 presidential election, Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis said at a news conference Tuesday.

DeSantis said the hackers didn’t manipulate any data and the election results weren’t compromised. He and officials from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement were briefed by the FBI and Department of Homeland Security on Friday.

The governor said he signed an agreement with the FBI not to disclose the names of the counties, but elections officials in those counties are aware of the intrusions.

One person who wasn’t aware was DeSantis’ predecessor, now-Republican U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, DeSantis said.

“We’re trying to figure out what the state knew at the time,” DeSantis said. “Obviously, the previous administration and the head of FDLE did not have that information.”

He said the hackers gained access through a spear-phishing email after a worker clicked a link.

Scott criticized his opponent in last year’s election, then-Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, for saying Russians had hacked elections systems and had “free rein to move about” ahead of last year’s midterm election. Scott called the allegations sensational.

Scott will receive a briefing from the FBI on Wednesday, said spokesman Chris Hartline. Hartline confirmed that Scott wasn’t aware of the hacking while he was serving as governor.

“It’s pretty clear during our back and forth in the campaign there was no information provided to the state,” Hartline said. “There will be a lot of questions ... We’ll know more tomorrow.”

Nelson said last August that Russians had penetrated the systems of certain Florida counties and had “free rein to move about” ahead of last year’s midterm election.

After Nelson’s comments, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security issued a joint letter saying that they saw no signs of any “new or ongoing compromises” of state or local election systems. Some experts warned that the hackers could have left malware on computer systems to be triggered later.

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Russian interference in the 2016 election also said hackers gained access to the network of at least one Florida county. Republican U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio has previously said at least one Florida county had an intrusion.

DeSantis said he was frustrated when he saw the vague reference to hacking in Mueller’s report.

“Hey, this shows up in the Mueller report, no one ever said anything to me,” DeSantis said. “Granted, I took office in 2019 and this happened in 2016, so I get why the FBI wouldn’t have rushed to tell me about something several years ago.”

Yeah.........the Russians just decided to poke their head inside the database and do nothing. Sure.

Drop a malware that activates itself later and flips over every 25th vote that went to the democrat column over to a republican vote.

But....you see, in order to have the malware be designed to turn over juuuuust enough votes to ensure that the Republican wins they would have to know how closely the two candidates are polling in order to determine how much of a percentage they have to flip.

And to do that:drake:you'd have to have somebody with access to very, very detailed polling information gathered by a very high dollar political party organization being fed to you constantly throughout the election. And even more ridiculous :drake: it'd have to be someone within either the campaign or the political party that has access to that info, and he'd have to pass it along to like a Russian GRU agent. But that's:drake: that's just utterly absurd to think someone would do that, and we'd have definitive knowledge that they did that.

Michael Flynn told special counsel about possible attempts to obstruct Russia probe

Former national security advisor Michael Flynn provided special counsel Robert Mueller with information about possible efforts to interfere or obstruct his investigation, according to documents made public late Thursday.

In a filing attached to his sentencing memorandum, federal prosecutors said Flynn “informed the government of multiple instances, both before and after his guilty plea, where either he or his attorneys received communications from persons connected to the Administration or Congress that could have affected both his willingness to cooperate and the completeness of that cooperation.”

Flynn, a former national security advisor, not only told investigators about these communications but also provided the special counsel’s office with a voicemail of one instance. Prosecutors said in their filing that they were not aware of some of these attempts until Flynn informed them.

A federal judge has ordered prosecutors to file transcripts of the voicemail as well as transcripts of any other recordings of Flynn, including his conversations with Russian officials. Judge Emmet Sullivan said they have until May 31 to file the transcripts, and also requested the actual audio recordings.

It appears that the Mueller report did contain a transcript of a recording Flynn provided to special counsel investigators. In the special counsel report, investigators said shortly after Flynn agreed to cooperate, he withdrew from a joint defense agreement he had with the president. Flynn’s lawyer told Trump’s personal lawyer that the former national security advisor would no longer be able to have confidential communications with the president. The president’s lawyer then left a voicemail for Flynn’s counsel which said:

“I understand your situation, but let me see if I can’t state it in starker terms. ... t wouldn’t surprise me if you’ve gone on to make a deal with ... the government. ... f ... there’s information that implicates the President, then we’ve got a national security issue, ... so, you know, ... we need some kind of heads up. Um, just for the sake of protecting all our interests if we can .... [R]emember what we’ve always said about the ′ President and his feelings toward Flynn and, that still remains ....”

Michael Flynn told Robert Mueller that people who were representing members in Congress (in this case, its certainly Republican members) were contacting Flynn in the hopes of preventing him from assisting the Mueller investigation.  That's witness tampering, that's obstruction of justice.

...........committed by Republicans in Congress.:vince:

The cancer is spreading.

What happens if the DoJ doesn't want to hand over the tape to a Judge?

This isn't like claiming executive privilege or national security or saying that its part of another investigation. The Judge can still request the tape and review it in private.

We hope it doesn't get to that point, because that means that Trump's DoJ is not adhering to Congressional subpoenas and Judicial subpoenas. Which basically means that the Executive Branch is not recognizing the powers of the other branches of government, especially the Judiciary.

That's the definition of a Constitutional Crisis.

If the judge gets a hold of the audio tape and any contextual information over who was contact Michael Flynn........Democrats in Congress is going to go after that information, and they'll probably get it and start an investigation over it.

William Barr is trying to hide the most explosive parts of the Mueller report, and we're getting to a point where he can't do quietly anymore.

Deustche Bank employees noticed money laundering activity in Trump's and Kushner's accounts at their bank during 2016 and 2017. They recommended filing a "Suspicious Activity Report" (SAR) to the Dept. of Treasury. Their superiors blocked them.

Per NYT:

Quote

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Anti-money laundering specialists at Deutsche Bank recommended in 2016 and 2017 that multiple transactions involving legal entities controlled by Donald J. Trump and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, be reported to a federal financial-crimes watchdog.

The transactions, some of which involved Mr. Trump’s now-defunct foundation, set off alerts in a computer system designed to detect illicit activity, according to five current and former bank employees. Compliance staff members who then reviewed the transactions prepared so-called suspicious activity reports that they believed should be sent to a unit of the Treasury Department that polices financial crimes.

But executives at Deutsche Bank, which has lent billions of dollars to the Trump and Kushner companies, rejected their employees’ advice. The reports were never filed with the government.

The nature of the transactions was not clear. At least some of them involved money flowing back and forth with overseas entities or individuals, which bank employees considered suspicious.

Quote

Ms. McFadden, a longtime anti-money laundering specialist in Deutsche Bank’s Jacksonville office, said she had reviewed the transactions and found that money had moved from Kushner Companies to Russian individuals. She concluded that the transactions should be reported to the government — in part because federal regulators had ordered Deutsche Bank, which had been caught laundering billions of dollars for Russians, to toughen its scrutiny of potentially illegal transactions.

This is why Trump is trying to block congressional subpoenas into Deustche Bank.

Oh, and this would be the same Duestche Bank where recently-retired Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy's son works at, and had approved multiple loans to Donald Trump that were for hundreds of millions of dollars.

More and more stuff is starting to leak, and they're seemingly losing their ability to stop it from coming out.

Bank executives who fail to submit a SAR report when they have been notified of such activity are actually the law and can be prosecuted. These bank employees have now put their bosses at criminal risk by telling on them.  The heat is going to get to them, eventually, and they will talk.

So The House Democrats in Congress has subpeona'd Trumps tax nd financial records from his own personal accounting firm.

Trump's legal team had sued in order to stop Congress from doing that, arguing that they "had no legislative purpose" to do so and were over-reaching their bounds.  Everybody knew that argument was never going to work, it was obvious that Trump was trying to stall for time and slow them down in the courts.

A week and a half ago, the judge overhearing that case said that they will process this case quickly, so last week they went through the entire case, with both sides giving their argument.

Judge already came back with a verdict today. Naturally Trump lost. Congress is within its powers to get this information.

This was expected, because the next step would be that Trump's legal team would appeal to the next higher court, and then appeal again. To buy as much time as possible.

But the problem is, Trump's legal team would have to request an immediate stay pending an appeal. They did, and the Judge DENIED it. So Congress can immediately enforce the subpoena on the accounting firm to get the financial documents.

The Judicial system know what Trump and his legal team are TRYING to do, and they are not having it.

This is fitting, for when Trump's legal team tries to appeal to a higher district court:

:drake:

Here's the main part of the judge's ruling from today. Just to highlight how absurd Trump is to try and fight this, and how obvious it is that he's trying to stall for time. Desperately:

Quote

It is simply not fathomable that a Constitution that grants Congress the power to remove a President for reasons including criminal behavior would deny Congress the power to investigate him for unlawful conduct—past or present—even without formally opening an impeachment inquiry.

...

The court is well aware that this case involves records concerning the private and business affairs of the President of the United States. But on the question of whether to grant a say pending appeal, the President is subject to the same legal standard as any other litigant that does not prevail. Plaintiffs have not raised a “serious legal question[] going to the merits.” Population Inst., 797 F.2d at 1078. And, the balance of equities and the public interest weigh heavily in favor of denying relief. The risk of irreparable harm does not outweigh these other factors. Powerful, emphatic precedent.

The judge literally goes out of their way to say there's "powerful, emphatic precedent" that Congress has this power to check the president.

Another piece of news hitting today at 5pm.

Now this doesn't seem like new news, but it seems like its reconfirming previously existing news that hinted at this already.

Michael Cohen spoke to Congress earlier this year about Donald Trump. He gave one public testimony, and then the next day he visited with them privately behind closed doors to get extended testimony.

During that closed door hearing, he said that he had been instructed by Trump's lawyer, Jay Sekulow, to falsely claim that negotiations to build the Trump Tower in Moscow stopped in January 2016.

He was telling that lie before Congress during a hearing in 2017.

So Congress is now starting to look into Jay Sekulow.

I had never seen this video before. When Anthony Kennedy was announcing his resignation from the Supreme Court, he has announced it with Trump.

And this was the video of them going back to his quarters, and they were both talking.

Trump says something that stops Anthony Kennedy in his tracks and he's like "wait, WTF?"

And then Anthony Kennedy raises his finger and points at him in a defensive manner, as if he's saying "be careful" and Trump can't muster up the courage to make eye contact with him and starts walking away from him.

Donald Trump is now starting to lose his shit, hard.

Pelosi and Schumer met with him in the White House to discuss coming to an agreement with a large Infrastructure Bill.

The meeting lasted only 3 minutes.

Trump was mad that Pelosi had said that he was "engaging in a cover up" and Trump said that he will not work on policy unless Democrats stop all investigations.

To Repeat: He demanded that unless the Democrats stop all oversight (which is their constitutionally-mandated power)..........he will not do his job as President.

He stormed out and gave an impromptu press conference.

And during that press conference, he inadvertently admitted that Donald Jr. had indeed called him after that 2016 Trump Tower meeting (which they had denied before).

Oh and by the way, Deustche Bank has said that they will turn over Trump's financial records and be in accordance to the House subpoena. Its very obvious that Trump is more scared about people looking at his financial information than anything else.

Tillerson's visit was unannounced, and he entered through a back entrance at the Congressional building.

He wasn't subpoena'd either, so that means that Tillerson voluntarily accepted a request to visit Congress

Tillerson must have received a letter from the House Committee, and he must have not notified anybody at the White House, because they would've told him that he must not testify before Congress.

Tillerson is easily the highest ranked member of Trump's white house to testify, and one of the most credible. This might be a bigger event than it originally appears.

This whole time I thought Trump was mispronouncing words because his mind slipped, or his speech was slurred.

Turns out.........he's saying it exactly as he wrote it down:
