Game will run at 60 FPS and feel like 40, FromSoftware couldn't deliver proper frame pacing if their lives depended on it.

Its outsourced to another dev. Not From.

Well the initial info from Kotaku said that beyond higher ress textures, for the non Switch version they are implementing Dark Souls 3's lighting system.

Just saying, Switch version has a different dev.

So is there any point to getting this over playing the original with dsfix?

Maybe 60fps? I heard it had issues with ladders and shit in the original at that framerate.

Sseems the remaster will be running in DS3's engine.

  • The remake runs at 1080p on the PS4 and Xbox One with 60 FPS.
  • This is a REMAKE of the game using Dark Souls 3’s engine. Expect Combat differences.
  • Native 4k resolution on PC
  • Remaster renders upscaled 4K on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One while the PC version will feature resolution upto native 4K.
  • The remaster will feature up to 6 player online, like Dark Souls 3.
  • The multiplayer now has dedicated game servers rather than p2p
  • The remaster includes the DLC Artorias of the Abyss

There's no way From Software is going to achieve a hard 60fps lock. That's just their way of saying that the game will have an uncapped framerate, and you'll see it flowing around 40-50 almost all the time.

What?

Isn't SOTFS essentially locked at 60?

Don't see why this couldn't be.

Digital Foundry:

Quote

According to the in-depth analysis, both platforms target 60fps and “engage v-sync at all times” but there are greater drops on the Xbox One version.

“The Forest of Fallen Giants area is a good example, where a barrage of enemies causes a read-out of between 40-50fps on Xbox One, while PS4 operates within the 50-60fps range,” the report states.

Huh, interesting.

Well, they should be able to get 60 FPS in MOST areas I would think.

Would be interesting, if this version fluctuates and Switch is a steady 30, could make the decision tough. That's probably unlikely though.

Who cares? I beat the damn game like 6 times, and played three sequels in the past 7 years.

I'm good, guys. No, really. I'll wait for their next game.

I think the enemies spawning in the game just cause the CPU to take a shit.

I'm sure it would be a bi better in the PS4pro/XBX.

I would've considered a Switch version if they were combining multiple Dark Souls games into one cartridge.

You seem to be upset that Switch is getting the best third party franchises after you said it would get no meaningful support:bena:I guess on top of the sales, and first party goty's the sky is the limit
