Finished Alice in Borderland. That ending…well…it was a very manga/VLR ending. I really appreciate how the creators tried to do a lot of new things. I think season 1 flowed better, but when 2 was firing on all cylinders, the series was holding aces. But…these fantastic moments made the flaws that much more apparent. However, one can say these “flaws” give the show Japanese charm. Perhaps. I enjoyed this wild and fun mess very much, even when some of the action scenes were more far-fetched (very video game-like) than those in season 1, which is saying a lot lol.

There will clearly be a season 3….unless Netflix cancels it. While 2 has an “ending”, I need more answers.

Finished a couple of shows/seasons lately

 

Alex Rider S1 - 8.0. Surprised by this show. it starts off a bit slow and comes off as more of a teen drama than anything else, but once the espionage elements start taking center stage it becomes a lot of fun. Both this one and S2 have some really good music and visuals too.

Alex Rider S2 - 7.5. The story in this one gets pretty ridiculous especially in the 2nd half, so thats my main knock against it. Still a pretty good time overall. and some of the additions to the cast are great (especially Toby Stephens).

Jack Ryan S3 - 8.0. After such a long hiatus, I forgot just how fantastic the production values are in this show. It really gives off a sense of scale that you don't see in most other spy shows, incorporating many lavish & often crowded sets spanning many locales. I will say that I do think the climax fizzles out a bit. While the stakes are high it doesn't feel quite as intense or exciting as S2.

Good review. Doesn't sound like its a complete success but it still seems like a good time. Will be watching it next.

The prison game is so good  I like how its basically pitting everyone against one another. There aren't any real teams, and people slowly start to 2nd guess what others are saying about their suit. Its so devious.

I can't remember the last time I had such a bad case of yellow fever 

 

But yeah I have 2 eps left and so far I think its as good if not better than the first season. The production values in particular got a noticeable upgrade. Everything from the cinematography, to the directing, editing, FX,  etc is quite a bit better.

If they dont reveal WTF is going on with Alice In Borderland by ep 6 I'm dropping the show. It's good but I'm getting JJ Abrahams vibes where they have no idea where they are taking the show and ultimately it will just a stupid ending and people will never talk about it again like Lost or GOT.

Ohhh they give answers, which lead to new questions. But there is an “ending”…in case there’s no season 3.
