I would still very much recommend watching Midnight Mass, even though GD and I don't think it's MF's best work. I'm reading a lot of ppl saying it is by far their fav work, so there's a chance you will very much like it. Plus it is also just generally good compared to most other 'horror' tv shows. Worth it for how beautifully it's shot alone. Plus only 7 eps.

We wound up finishing the show. It's an interesting concept. I actually think this would be better as an M. Night style movie. Even at only 7 eps,by the time the show picks up speed its so close to the end that all the previous build up (that little that was actually there) is insufficient.

This show is padded with too many  too long monologs where characters take 10 minutes to express what would normally be a 1 or 2 minute scene. That graduation type speech at the end that went on for-fucking-ever.

There's just something missing from the show. Like it's not scary enough to be horror, but at the same time it's unintentionally too silly to be a straight drama. At the end of the day the problem it's written, directed, and produced by one person. A little input from another person might have been a bit helpful.

Im close to the end. I've warmed up to it a bit more but I feel like theres too many characters and most of them are underdeveloped.

Yeah, there is alot of dialog but not much character development. Other than a couple of plot twist or just one really it's just people talking... A lot.

The performances were all good. I really liked the Preacher's work here and back when he was on Legion. It feels like a play too often. I don't love that you can probably skip like half of the episodes in between 1 and 6 and not really miss anything.

Did anyone watch The Wonder Years? Only one episode out but it was really good. Its cool to see a different take on it. Only gripe is the original theme song isnt there . They should have remade it into a funk version.

Anyone interested in No Time to Die?  It doesn't sound must see but is likely to still be one of the better action films of the year.

I'm a huge Bond fan so yes, I watch them all. Hopefully this is more Casino Royale and Skyfall vs QOS or the other one. It was a mistake to try to tie all these movies together. People totally forget bad Bond films.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying. I'd be very interested to see what you thought if you ever watch Hill House though, because it does a lot of similar things (lot of characters, long monologues, all done by one guy, etc), but just executes them so much better.

Word! I think hill house mixed horror and character depth so flawlessly. I truly felt connected to the characters…and the broke neck lady reveal was downright chilling!

Watched The Many Saints of Newark. While I loved the fan service and seeing young Tony (James’ son did great), the story just felt paper thin. The premise could have made for a solid TV show. However, 2 hours is not enough to capture the tone and depth of The Sopranos. 5/10
