Self service refunds and game gifting roll out on Xbox One

Recommended Posts

They've left the insider program and are in full effect for public use. Basically the same situation as Steam refunds.

  • You can refund a pre-order at any time before release
  • You can only refund a game with less than 2 hours played
  • You must seek the refund within 14 days of purchase
  • You must wait at least 24 hours before requesting a refund
  • You must launch the game before a refund can be initiated (unless a pre-order)

Nintendo and Sony as a comparative.

Nintendo

  • All sales (including pre-purchases) are final.

Sony

  • Payments for access to content or services are not refundable except where the law requires that they are refundable. Unless otherwise required by law, you may not cancel or obtain a refund for a pre-order or an order for a content bundle once you place your order, and pre-ordered content or content included in a bundle may be changed without notice.

Good shit, Sony will prob follow suit with the PS5. Also they need to add gifting.

I forgot to mention that, you can gift games on Xbox One now as well.

They're going to have to follow, this is something that looks really bad if you're not doing it and other people are.
