This is actually a good thing. The company already looked like it was in taters.   It doesn't really do much harm to have them work for MS considering what they're current status is.

It doesn't work both ways because we already know they're releasing a console as normal as it's their bread and butter, and we also know the streaming blades are made of Xbox One S internals.

Xbox is getting curb stomped in the console space....wait...lets drop our most profitable segment of our business (PC)... an area that we literally have a monopoly on and no real competition... a spac

Or not . Idiot :D

And it's coming to all platforms with an internet connection through the Xcloud.

Forza on your phone. Forza on your PC. Forza on your Xbox One, PS4, Switch. Forza everywhere.

Apparently MS is looking to bolster their PC development.  LMAO Bodycount :pavarotti:

A person familiar with goings-on at Microsoft said the company has been looking to bolster its PC development, which makes the PC-focused Obsidian a perfect fit.

It really makes sense, considering that in the future they will only make PC versions of their games and stream them.  We also have Gears Tactics coming exclusively to PC.. lol.

They've managed now to acquire like 5 developers I could care less for.

-Ninja Theory is the only hope, but they still are kind of a joke from the Plan B days.

-State of decay is a top 5 worst game ever franchise and dev

-compulsion makes shitty 4.0's

-Playground makes racing games

-Obsidian made a 7.0 Fallout 3 spin-off/rehash that ran and looked like shit

now add in the fact that  all of these winners are making PC games? worst first party in the biz, bar none.

Nah, Obsidian was moving to consoles anyway so they're obviously going to be an all purpose developer. Also you're forgetting that Microsoft is pushing out the M/KB updates and tools for Xbox One because they want to account for their games being able to be played on Xbox as well as PC regardless of what it is.

In terms of things like Gears Tactics it's not going to remain only on PC. Aaron Greenberg actually addressed this recently and stated games with a PC focus from Microsoft are being handled in such a way that they will trickle down. I assume funding and resources are more limited so they have an initial focus and then expand upon completion.

I'm simply saying what the article says

They probably want to engage more with their PC players and build up a bit of trust after all the bullshit they've done with Games for Windows and shit like that.  Phil has stated many times that there are games that make sense on PC first and foremost.  None of that is new... but considering the developer they are supposedly purchasing... they are a very PC centric and it makes sense that if true, they will work on PC games designed to improve user engagement with the store.  They'll make their way to console, eventually... because everything will play everything eventually.

They're [MS] also apparently working on a new Xbox app for PC that is "more native to the platform" and more in line with what PC gamers would want.  Hopefully that means a new store interface and backend specifically for gaming.

In before only Xbox gets native code and everything else including PC is streaming :hest:
