I do, it may have legacy significance but its relevance with them has long since past, they make no money from it, it does nothing for them, they have no rights to it, they can't do anything with it.

Microsoft

Dino has a point. Nintendo didn't have any rights (and still don't) over anything Goldeneye. I remember that story pretty clearly, Nintendo basically made threats at Activision for this not to happen

Were you actually able to switch back and forth between the original graphics and the updated gfx like that?

That's awesome.

But at the end of the day, you can't blame Nintendo for protecting what they own.

They didn't own it, they had no rights to it at this point. Activision owned the rights and Iwata said...

"Goldeneye is a Nintendo product and should only be on a Nintendo platform".

So, obviously he went behind everyone's back and worked out something with Activision to block it. Good riddance you dead PoS, the guy would have rather of let a project like this be scrapped instead of allowing millions to enjoy it, or hell even asking Microsoft if they could work something out. Fuck Iwata.

P.S. A Rare employee should leak this, it needs to be leaked.

So blame Activision for caving in lmao...  the GoldenEye 007 game is synonymous with Nintendo.  I don't blame Nintendo for trying to keep it that way.

They played a very pathetic "if we can't have it then nobody can" kind of hand. All they accomplished with this was the destruction of something likely completed that would have brought joy to millions.

Yeah Activision should not have caved, especially with Microsoft who of all corporations they have a very strong working relationship. Nintendo and Activision in the same sentence bears almost zero significance, well Activision never reprised ownership rights to 007 games so if Microsoft decided to this could still see the light of day.

I feel like going on a Twitter spree to see if some kind of answer can be gotten from Spencer, Greenberg or Ybarra, or hell maybe even trying the Rare forums. Even if one key person at this company is reminded that this still exists in their files it could spark motivation to check into it and/or make it happen.

how awful, valuing your exclusive experiences :cruise:Are you saying Nintendo should be more like MS and whore out their already lackluster exclusive offerings to ungrateful PoC owners , devaluing them even further?

Not going to happen. Nintendo knew it was a cherished exclusive and told MS and acti to fuck off, as they should of.

Nsclusives are a legacy. :glad:

This is how you build a brand and show your customers you care, reciprocate their passion and show them that when you buy one of our products, you get experiences that aren't available anywhere else, guaranteed.

Not timed exclusives

Not Launch Exclusives

not Console Launch exclusives

Not FauXsclusives

Fucking REAL EXCLUSIVES. it isn't hard, just every console ever, including the fucking Ngage managed to pull it off, funny how Xflop Done is the only console that can't pull that off for its fans.

Fair enough.  But yea, these things happen all the time and we never find out about them.  Maybe some day it will happen regardless?

Fucking REAL EXCLUSIVES

This doesn't show consumers you care, this is the antithesis of caring. If Nintendo cared they would let something go that they had no right to speak of in the first place, they would have allowed a new generation to experience this and the old to experience it in a better state than it ever existed in.

The saddest part in all of this is that dumb people like you exist in this world, that's the real shame.

you've been cucked by new MS's anti-exclusives attitude. Don't believe their lies about theFauXsclusives being a 'pro-consumer' move, it's flat out marketing speak and complete lies. they ran such a terrible campaign this generation that they ended damn near killing xbox to the point where they can't even afford 1 fucking exclusive game for it. They're fucking hacks.

It's shameless acts from Nintendo who thought they were still calling the shot in this industry. lmfao  You can't even imagine  this kind of behavior today, Nintendo threatening Activision? ROFLMAO, sit the fuck down. CoD sells more than Mario and Zelda on a yearly basis. Fuck off.

Shitty company, and shittier fanboys. This is why you never want to see Ninty calling the shots. They are terrible to third parties. What a shit company.

A good comparison to make people understand is as if Sony had cancelled the Crash Bandicoot Remasters from happening. Granted it was a timed PS4 exclusive but at least it still happened and is now available on pretty much all platforms.

but bu Crash is a PS1 legacy game, you can't have it even if it's in your legal rights to do so!!!
