Playstation Tablet 1,865
I would like to ask about the current situation of "MHW".As of the end of September 2018, we have sold 10.7 million copies in total, and about 70% of the total is sold abroad. In Japan, teenagers are increasing more than our expectation. Handheld ghetto is over, and so is the Jap monopoly on the franchise.
Goukosan 2,453
you forgot this part Monster Hunter World/Generations Ultimate Performance In this business, the Monster Hunter series served as the driving force in improving the Company's business performance, with feature title Monster Hunter: World (for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One), which contributed to growth of the Company in the previous fiscal year, not only gaining further popularity through the expansion of its user base but also boosting profits through the strong performance of the Steam version for PC that was released in August. In addition, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate (for Nintendo Switch) was released in markets outside of Japan and enjoyed robust sales owing to its consistent popularity

jehurey 3,318
LOL, The Switch may very well be catching up to PS4 hardware sales in Japan by the middle of next year. Capcom will want a Monster Hunter with high sales in Japan. They will make Switch integral to the development of the real Monster Hunter 5.

Mr. House 3,371
TSHBFK Next up, DQXI sales in the west will be the best the series ever had since DQ1. Making exclusive for Nintendo platforms.
McWicked 825
I do believe that MH will continue on Switch, though. The japanese sales alone warrant further entries. But let's not kid ourselves: MHW = MH5.
102020393023445948594 2,223
they'll continue to make casualized spin offs for the clunksters, and the bread and butter experience, the real monster hunter experience, will be. developed exclusively for switch. there's really no reason to celebrate multiplatform titles like World, Generations can only be played on one system. Remij 5,047
As long as there's portable gaming systems there will be Monster Hunter on them. Capcom can do both and be successful with both. Many people that are huge fans of the series would see another game that's different, and portable.. as another "must have" and will enjoy it all the same. They aren't stopping one for the other now because they've had some success... they want to GROW the franchise... not impede it.. and Switch has moved enough units to where there's a sizable market that's thirsty for some MH. Do we have numbers for MHGU Switch? It says robust sales, but we have no idea what those are. I'm sure they're relative to expectations.

madmaltese★ 2,814
The success of this game is such an awesome story. Capcom took such a big risk and it paid of spectacularly. Encourages a lot of similar moves from Japanese developers. There will obviously still be MH games on switch but I expect World to know become their main MH series.
