Hobo Pass is 1 dollah

Free first months are a pretty common method of customer acquisition. It's not indicative of anything.

It is if they do it multiple times over the course of a year. It means that they have trouble building up subscribers.

I didn't know that Game Pass is over a year old. It launched in July 2017. They had $1 deals back during last Christmas, and then they had deals of $30 for 6 months that people could buy multiples and stack them.

What's happening is that they're losing subscribers. They duped people into paying $1 and they played Sea of Thieves and State of Decay for like 2-3 months, realized there's no reason to keep paying it, and then cancelled their subscription.

There's supposedly at least 30 million Xbox One owners, and Microsoft could only say that there was "multiple millions" of Game Pass subscribers during this Xbox event this past weekend. So that means they're not even close to double-digit millions.

Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Spotify always have a free month offer for new subscribers.

And lemmings still think its not hobo pass :roff:

Xbox is the poundworld of the videogame industry. This is the console you buy a 7 year old for spongebob and minecraft, or what the chavs buy for an occasional game of fifa or cod.

Playstation is a premium brand. I think this is extremely evident when you compare the first party games across the two consoles. One is for braindead casuals who only want a generic racer every year, the other console is for those with sophisticated tastes.

PsNow is 20 bucks and has 4 times as many users for fucks sake. :mj:

Yeah, and? I'm not calling GamePass good or successful. Successful and unsuccessful services alike offer free months to new users. Pointing to a free month (or a deeply discounted one) as indicative of it being successful or unsuccessful is just dumb.

You really think Hobo pass will be able to sustain a permanent subscription audience after this ghetto promotion?
