Playstation Tablet 1,725
No sure if I have the patience for this shit. The world is dead with nothing to do as well.
Cooke 2,026
it was good for 1999 or whenever it came out. Nostalgia seems to get the best of you consistently.

Playstation Tablet 1,725
Actually fuck the time skip. There is literally NOTHING to do in the game aside from talking, waiting, there are like 10 combat scenarios. This is literally a 1999 tech demo posed as a game. I hope Shenmue 2 is better than this, haven't played it since forever.

Playstation Tablet 1,725
Shenmue 2 is SO SO much better. The level geometry, textures and signs. I can now actually make out shit in the environment. Shenmue 1 is basically corridors with walls that have a few textures with PS1 ress to "show" the "stores". It's unworkable. Actually I quit on the 3rd day, when the guide said there would be a 4th day. Shenmue 2 however is highly enjoyable, OG Shenmue is basically an early access 1999 title, that needed another 2 years.

McWicked 825
Just now, Cookester15 said: because of the story. Shenmue's story is thin as fuck Gameplay-wise, too. It was basically the GOAT era for turn-based RPGs. Just enough complexity in the battle systems without bogging everything down into a boring fucking slog. FFT and Vagrant Story haven't really been topped.
Playstation Tablet 1,725
Shnemue 1 and 2 should not be mentioned in the same breath. It's like comparing a DMC2 level disaster vs the original DMC. Just reverse release order.
