Yeah, Nintendo really created a crappy piece of hardware.

They should have known it was gonna be shit. Runs like shit on every other console, it's gonna be worse on a weaker one. Unoptimized garbage. Aren't these guys making the new game that looks like sea of thieves?

There is no magical optimisation for weak hardware. RDR2 would look somewhat like this on Switch.

This would make sense if we didn't have open-world games that look infinitely better on the system already.

What does this have to do with tech or specs? PS360 had great looking open world games, yet it doesn't change the fact what technical requirements are.

Zelda looks good on Wii U which is basically PS360 hardware. Doesn't mean it can run a modern speccee gamem

Lemme get this straight.  You think this is a result of not the software, but the hardware:

Even though this came out at launch:

:D

Yeah I'm not sure why this was ever released for the Switch; I mean go read the STEAM reviews and people with beastly PC's still complain about low FPS during specific segments of the game: Large towns, big battles, etc.

RDR1 is a good looking game. Now put RDR2 on 360 and it will turn into a Switch level abomination.  You have a very hard time understanding hardware requirements it seems.

Oh sure, you're right.  Whatever was I thinking.  Switch cannot run anything like Ark.  It's a good thing there isn't anything even remotely comparable on the system that tells us otherwise.  Dodged a bullet there, phew. :heh:

Switch has 1/3 the GPU grunt of the base XBox and 1/7 the memory bandwidth of the base PS4.

I'm not sure what magical fairytale optimization can overcome that.

Do you think Switch hardware can do better than what Ark is doing?  Simple yes or no question.

No it can't. Because anything is can do, even if looking good will work within a specific set of specs and what is possible. How good a game looks =/= specs. Horizon, Uncharted and God of War look good but they are running on a fairly modest hardware spec. There are games that look worse and are more demanding, it's down to design. Specs and hardware usage are objective as a measurement. Percived visual results are not.
