Nike, on the other hand, hired Kaepernick and that ad cost them in the short term, then grew their base in the long term: https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/321130 Nike's stock is down since the ad began airing on September 4th. In reality Nike's stock price is down since the ad aired. Once again you're talking out of your ass.

Lemme get this straight: you're suggesting that after the ad rose their stock to an all-time high in September, it then tanked their stock to where it is now? Is that about right? No external factor to take into account here?

It rose no higher and then fell. It appears the add had little to no affect on Nike's stock price. You're talking out of your ass again.
54212 432
A mediocre cis white man trying to mansplain how advertising works even though he has no background in advertising and failing badly. Mr. House 3,371
I don't think I ever seen any company who went woke and actually financially benefited from it. The movies pushing their agenda on the forefront are tanking (see ghostbusters for example) , SJW video games are selling less than previous entries, the Oscars is at an all time low, even the NFL was negatively affected when they did the drop on your knee thing. It's not even the message that is the issue, people don't want their entertainment to become politicized. Who would have thunk it. Just sell your fucking shit products, just make good entertainment. No one cares about getting talked down to by Meryl Streep.
54212 432
The biggest mistake the Gillette ad makes is scolding its audience. Nike's Kap ad was at least intended to uplift its audience. Who wants be scolded by a razor company about intersectional feminist conspiracy theories? It's just bizarre.

What happened September 28th in relevance to Nike? Why does a stock Plummet like hell like that? Just curious do we all ever know why a stock tanks or not. I just know lately everything's been sanking, thanks to Donald Jr. And that's cool. Maybe I should buy some nike and amd stocks now.

You just tried insinuating the very opposite and say that their stock went down since the ad aired. Therefore the ad primarily to blame. Now, we all know you won't actually commit to that because its a weak argument to make. The stock did continue rising steadily until the beginning of October. 3 weeks of an advertising campaign is a sufficient measurement of its effectiveness. The advertising clearly did not hurt the company. On September 22nd, China and US abruptly end their trade negotiations with one another. On September 24th, the US adds a third round of tariffs, greatly increasing the amount of goods. They go from existing tariffs on $50 Billion worth of goods to expanding it to $250 Billion. How do you think the shareholders of a company who predominantly makes their product in China are going to respond after September 24th? Stocks are all correlated. If the broader market goes down, so will most individual stocks. Sep 28 was around when everything began plunging.

Now / then in gneeral with the market plummeting has been a goodtime for anyone to pick upstocks. **when a bunch of people buy a stock, does the price/value of it go down? **when a bunch of people sell let go a stock, does the price / value of it go down?
