Digital Foundry - RE2 Demo Analysis - Pro & X 60fps, 2160p

So there was also a mod for the PC version to remove the sharpening filter that is applied to the game.  As it is now, the image becomes way too over-sharpened when not using TAA.  It's obvious that this is meant to be used specifically with the TAA in the game.  When TAA is disabled, the sharpening should disable as well, but it doesn't. (maybe a bug)  The sharpening is why the game is terribly aliased if you use anything other than TAA.

Here's the game with no AA with sharpening:

Do those last 2 pics remind you of anything?  The PRO and the X1X.  Looking at the X1X and PRO footage again, I have a feeling that the X1X version of the demo simply has a bug with the sharpening not being applied to the TAA'd image, thus the extra soft look.

I'm almost certain this will be fixed in the final release.
