Ace Combat 7 GS review - 8.0

Recommended Posts

THE GOOD
 Dogfighting is exciting and multi-faceted
Strong variety of unique and memorable campaign missions
An earnest melodramatic story that's easy to get swept up in
Online multiplayer is straightforward and satisfying
VR missions are an engrossing addition

THE BAD
Sparse checkpointing can be annoying during challenging missions
 A few tedious missions

Just No more Heroes TSA 6.0 for the next 3 months or Ace Combat 7 - 8.0  just as an appetizer?  Tough choice :will2:

Ace Combat 7, Resident Evil 2, Kingdom Hearts 3. Gaming bliss. :juggle:

NMH Travis Flops Again and NSMBU $60 Deluxe Edition. :downs:

VR mode is also pure shit, three search and destroy missions that amount to less than an hour of gameplay.

IGN 7.0'd it.

Game sounds like an anti-climax to a series that should have stayed dead.

IGN gave AC7 a 7? :jasonj:

Why so bitter? AC is still a relatively niche series, so it’s unreasonable to expect it to pull off RDR2 level review scores. This one is going

back to it’s roots but their intention was never to reinvent the wheel. They tried that already with Assault Horizon and as you already know that didn’t go so well.

Also, the VR mode has been getting unanimous praise. It’s short, but that’s a result of the game’s design more than anything else. If they tried to make the entire campaign in full VR then the design of the missions would have to suffer,  because they put you in scenarios and environments that would be too demanding to play through in VR.
