the game will look great on all machines except the OG xbox one. man, what a shitty machine.

It's 1080p on the PS4 and Xbox One, the difference is simply performance and Xbox having AA while neither PS4 does.

Resident Evil 2: Release Version Tech Comparison

Review Codes were supplied by Capcom. Resident Evil 2 Remake frame rate test comparing the performance on Playstation 4, Playstation 4 Pro, Xbox One and Xbox One X. Subscribe for more gaming tech analysis: http://bit.ly/VGTechSubscribe

The versions tested were 1.01 on Playstation 4 systems and 1.0.1.1 on Xbox One systems. PS4 renders at a native resolution of 1920x1080. PS4 Pro and Xbox One X render at a resolution of 2880x1620, and the PS4 Pro downsamples from this resolution when outputting at 1080p. Xbox One renders at a resolution of 1920x1080. PS4 Pro, Xbox One and Xbox One X seem to be using Checkerboard Rendering to reach their stated resolutions.

The Xbox One X has reduced aliasing compared to the PS4 Pro (1:23). The game does appear to be softer on the Xbox One X than the PS4 Pro (2:45).

Looks like the avg Pro and X performance is pretty much the same.

Yeah except all those sharp drops on the Pro are during gameplay. Guess where the X was getting its sharp drop in frames to equal that average? In non-play scenarios, cut-scenes :hest:

Context, as you like to say.

I'd be surprised if the One X didn't perform better when played at the same resolution as PS4 Pro. :killzone:

Regardless, I'm buying a Pro this month and gonna play RE2 on it. TLHBR :juggle:

DAMN, it's so blurry and smudged out on the Boner X! What the hell is happening over at MS, they've turned their console into the retarded red-headed step-child of gaming, much like the PS3 was. Atleast the PS3 had exclusives, and marketing deals though.

Another Worst-on-Loaf, no exclusive content, no marketing deal game for the 1 &1/2-2 lemmings left.

Good grief.

X is having sharp drops in the cut scenes? Yikes :drake:

Well at least one where it was shown in the analysis, but that's not gameplay where drops actually matter.

Lmfao.   One Scene is not going to bring down the avg for their entire analysis.

The fact that the pro and X avg Frame rate is so close means they both drop at different places throughout the game but overall the avg frame rate is equal.

It was a sustained drop, like through almost the entire cutscene. That's enough to drag down your average. Just watching the video makes it clear the X is really stable during gameplay while the Pro has somewhat regular 3-5 FPS drops and then 10+ FPS dips during heavier scenes.

The X and Pro are running at what are apparently the same settings bar the X's AA implementation, this shouldn't be a shock, the Pro is a weaker system on every front.

One of Resident Evil 2’s most impressive qualities, however, is just how much of a technical achievement it is. In simple terms, this is one of the best looking games ever made. Powered by the excellent RE Engine, the game showcases a level of polish and immaculate detail in every nook and cranny that is currently matched by very few other games out there. From the lighting, to the facial models and animations, to how the zombie themselves animate and react differently to situations, to how much detail Capcom have crammed into everything you see, Resident Evil 2 impresses with its visuals constantly and consistently.
