It will just redistribute his money for political purposes (welfare programs, etc). These programs will be highly inefficient and drag down society more and more. I agree that welfare is largely responsible for the single mother culture But some of you on the right need to stop acting like inequality can't reach unsustainable levels. There's a point where you do have to literally start redistributing money otherwise the whole system collapses. Inequality is the law of nature, any type of wealth is always going to concentrate and grow within a small percentage of people you can't tie up morality into that it's just how things work. We either work to keep it sustainable while keeping this game of capitalism worth playing for those who want to enjoy the spoils or let it reach unsustainable levels by tying up morality into it. Eisenhower was a high-schooler. Because the top tax rate for the ultra-rich was 90% back in the 1950's. And it was lowered to 70% all the way until it got to Reagan. So what Ocasio-Cortez is proposing is NOT EVEN NEW, this was being done in this country 40 years ago. This thread is 100% vini, look what he ended up prioritizing over actual policy. We didn't have welfare programs for single mothers in 1950. We're in a different time. You have no argument. Your claim is "This happened in the past at some good, so it must be good to continue doing it and increase it". With no regard for subtleties of time, place, nor effect on society.
