I don't know how much the rest of you know about Xbox culture (I'm an expert), but multiplayer and friends are huge parts of it. It's not like it is on Playstation where you can become successful by creating single player games. If you screw multiplayer over on Xbox ecosystem, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance. What this means is the american public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Crackdown 3, nor will they purchase any of MS' games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but MS has alienated an entire market with this move. Microsoft, publicly apologize and add friends to Crackdown 3 or you can kiss your business goodbye. Then the test came, and I played it and had a blast. It actually got be interested and excited to play the game. The time between the 2 tests on Sunday I was actually itching to play more. Of course, the test didn't have lobbies... I figured it was just because it was obviously a test meant to test the cloud tech at scale and match making connections. I was looking forward to playing the hell out of this next weekend with friends and some peeps from here... Then this news comes out the NEXT FUCKING DAY... and now my hype is almost non existent now. At least for wanting to play it next week. There's other shit coming which I'd rather give time to.. like Anthem and Metro Exodus... CD3 gets put on the far back-burner and by the time it's included I probably wont give a shit anymore. MS has no incentive to make $60 releases when they have to give them away for $8 on gamepass. expect all projects to be downgraded in scope. half baked shit like SoT, SOD, and CD3 are the only things that make financial sense for a brand centered around a straight to dvd streaming service.
