If Xbox made game purchases available in xCloud would that be a default generation win?

Recommended Posts

I mean we all know there's going to be a subscription model for xCloud but what if digital games you purchased for the full $59.99 were made available to you in the cloud to stream to any supported device? Is that feasible? Could this actually be something which could happen to drive digital purchasing?

Pretty sure that's a part of the plan.  I'm sure that any digital game you've bought, you'll be able to stream to any device you own, as long as you are subscribed to the service.

But no, it wouldn't mean a default generational win lmao.  It would be a nice perk associated with the convenience of being subscribed to the service.

The prospect of console quality games available almost anywhere at any time on a device we all carry around anyway is a big deal. That's the Switch's Achilles heel, you need an extra piece of hardware to lug around with you.

Cartridge running natively on portable hardware >>> streaming.

Maybe not for casuals but people like us? Please. Plus lack quality controller options.

Lack of control options? It will have screen attachable controllers, on screen controls and Bluetooth control with the Xbox One controller.

Sony's big streaming push will have their dedicated PlayStation tablet. They aren't going to do phones.

Which would be an absolutely horrible decision.

"Yeah our competition has a streaming service which you can use with the tablet and phone you already own, but please buy our single function $149.99 tablet"

Pay full price for games that will have lag and can pixelate.

Oh yeah, that definitely looks like winning.:jasonj:

Ugh... You pay for a game you can play on your Xbox/W10 PC like any other game but get streaming function on top of that... That's the premise...

Yeah MS is releasing all their games on PC day 1. Now we should expect Sony to release Horizon 2 and God of War 2 on PC day 1. Stupid Sony!

Lemme guess when MS rolls out XCloud on Switch, Lemmings are going to be calling Sony stupid for not rolling out PSNow on Switch. :kaz:

Look at these retard level false equivalencies lol...

Microsoft's route doesn't require the purchase of any additional hardware and it's likely something you already own. Sony's from what you're saying requires an additional purchase from Sony themselves of some proprietary tablet to accomplish the same goal.

One is smart and prosumer, the other is retarded.

One is the strategy of a third party oriented publisher. There other is that of a hardware makers. Simple as that.
