It's not desperation, it's desperate to constantly latch onto the lowest analyst figure instead of trying to ascertain a range from a multitude of information.

You're pathetic.

Dude think globally. I'm not even sure why you're involving yourself in this trivial shit.

It makes no noticable strategic difference even if we assume you are right.

That's why it's hilarious.

He's pushing inflated numbers because he figures if he can convince everyone that Switch won't pass xbone up before the xbone successor releases, then he "wins".  The part of his personal identity that's tied to the xbox's success won't be threatened if it can juuuuust last until then.  He'll claim "2nd place, bro, nobody cares about xbone anymore now that xbtwo is out".

There's nothing to assume as right because there is no single right answer which is exactly why a range has to be focused on and not some specific number. All of these firms have access to the same broad strokes data but their information gathering in lesser markets results in discrepancies between each other, some lower, some higher. It's a spectrum. The sheep think Zhuge is the end all be all of accurate information, he's one analyst, and he's wrong sometimes. Hell just this past two weeks he was completely wrong about Crackdown 3's review embargo and that's a small detail you'd think a person like him would know definitively.

That doesn't mean he's wrong about Xbox One's numbers but it also doesn't mean he's right, with an uncertainty in numbers and multiple analyst firms coming up with similar but separated figures it's best to simply focus on the range between them. When one is coming up with X and the other is coming up with Z the answer lies somewhere in Y.

Okay let's go with the inbetween number. 1.5 million. What does it exactly change.

Imagine if PS4 right now was a 90 million instead of 93 million, what does that even change in any sense. Honestly it doesn't even matter.

It doesn't change anything but it's simply good practice to acknowledge the in between because it accounts for something. I mean take Remij for example when he posts Steamspy data and the range is 1,000,000 - 2,000,000 sales of a game, should people just be like "yeah it sold a million" or does it make more sense to say "it's sold between one and two million"?

That's the problem, people like Gouk and the sheep brigade are latching onto that 1 million figure and not budging, it's pathetic.
