I've been hearing Ori for Switch for a while now. Ori 2 is Xbox's only chance at a good game this year and MS is going to bring it to switch. OMFG.

that's a wrap, folks. Wish you would have all seen this coming and sold of your Xboxes while you could. Almost too late now.

 

Xboner's reveal was literally a deathblow. the brand was sunk beyond repair.

 

And no, this isn't a Dreamcast/SEGA situation where Xbox will go out to be beloved by hardcore gamers, and the final years of its life fetishized by collectors, drowning in AAAE's like Soul Calibur, Sonic adventure, Powerstone, Skies of Arcadia... etc. The Xbox goes out like an absolute stinker, loathed and hated by gamers everywhere, a shit-streamed, skid-marked legacy left by broken, buggy 5.0's and 6.0's like Crackdowns and Sea of thieves.

 

What a sad way to go out.

You may still have a dedicated console in the future, but there will be no exclusives. none. all of your devs will be making multiplats.

 

hellblade 2 is going on everything, Obsidian's next game is multiplat, all of those devs you acquired will still be making games for sony, nintendo, and especially PC.

Look, I don't doubt that Microsoft would try to get xCloud on Switch, it makes sense for them, it makes sense. BUT, why in the hell would Nintendo allow them to have a streaming app on their console which would directly compete with game sales on their platform which is basically the entirety of where profit is generated? Are they going to require it only be for games they don't offer or can't run? Crossplay in a couple games is one thing, this is some mental gymnastic leaping shit.

MS execs have been preparing your asshole for this rapeage for years now:

 

-Don't report console sales

-MAUs the only metric of success

-Make nothing but multiplats

-Acquire studios making multiplats... and still let them be multiplat (Outerworlds, Hellblade, We happy few)

-Absolutely loathe their own fanboys and insult them on twitter (their way of telling you there is no future as an xbox fan)

-Hellblade still coming to switch a year after MS acquired Ninja Theory

-Scalebound being moved to Switch

-Gamepass being the future of the brand, nothing but gamepass titles, every 1st party game in gamepass

 

 

THEY'RE. NEVER. MAKING. A TRADITIONAL. CONSOLE. EVER. AGAIN.  

 

Anyone holding out for MS to go back to the old days of exclusives, etc... it's never happening. Phil and Satya have restructured xbox as a service. It's already here, it's happening RIGHT NOW. Xbox is dead, so either you like the new direction, or do what I did... buy another console. One that actually IS what you want (i.e Switch or PS4).

 

Xbox is completely non-essential.

Play Anywhere was literally MS's dreamcast moment. If they didn't have MS's capital, or were a smaller company like Sega, they'd have already pulled out of hardware.

No wonder Reggie is retiring.........he's finished off Microsoft.

 

So, there's two possibilities here, and one is actually MORE embarrasing for Microsoft.

 

Possibility #1: They're bringing GamePass via streaming.

This doesn't seem possible right now, and having a handheld wireless stream games via Wifi-ac would be really difficilt.

 

Possibility #2: They're bringing games on GamePass by PORTING THEIR OWN XBOX ONE GAMES TO SWITCH HARDWARE.

-Ori and the Blind Forest is ported to Switch

-Crackdown looks like a shitty looking game, the cloud physics would still apply in multiplayer mode.

-They degrade the waves in Sea of Thieves, and everything else looks the same.

-They downport Forza

 

 

Possibility #2 would absolutely...........positively...........definitive-ly.............be the END OF the Systemwars for the lemming faction. If Microsoft is literally having their developers create ports for the Switch hardware they ARE a third-party developer on Switch.
