The same reason EA Access exists? WHY WOULD MS ALLOW THAT !!111

Because EA is a small piece of a much grander scale of games and publishers and Microsoft gets a royalty. Nintendo doesn't have that fallback, they don't have a broad scale of other large games and publishers to counter any possible loss incurred as a result of a subscription service. Also do you think Microsoft would have allowed EA Access if it was offering a multitude of games outside of EA's scope? Of course not.

None of this logistically makes sense, not to mention the very concept of it belittles Nintendo's console as a constant reminded it can't run these games.

People thought Nintendo was gonna revive a dead and buried game and these madmen go and revive an entire dead and buried company.

that's a wrap, folks. Wish you would have all seen this coming and sold of your Xboxes while you could. Almost too late now.   Xboner's reveal was literally a deathblow. the brand was sunk b

This thread will be great to look back on one day

Ori, scalebound, Lucky's tale all pretty much confirmed for switch behind the scenes.

all the bullshit ads they did together. Crossplay. Hellblade still coming to switch a year after MS bought Ninja Theory.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. One rumour, maybe you could get away from saying no.

this though? nope, 100% confirmed. MS's future is Xbox as a multiplat box + a streaming app. Holy shit.

No wonder Reggie is retiring.........he's finished off Microsoft.

So, there's two possibilities here, and one is actually MORE embarrasing for Microsoft.

Possibility #1: They're bringing GamePass via streaming.

This doesn't seem possible right now, and having a handheld wireless stream games via Wifi-ac would be really difficilt.

Possibility #2: They're bringing games on GamePass by PORTING THEIR OWN XBOX ONE GAMES TO SWITCH HARDWARE.

-Ori and the Blind Forest is ported to Switch

-Crackdown looks like a shitty looking game, the cloud physics would still apply in multiplayer mode.

-They degrade the waves in Sea of Thieves, and everything else looks the same.

-They downport Forza

Possibility #2 would absolutely...........positively...........definitive-ly.............be the END OF the Systemwars for the lemming faction. If Microsoft is literally having their developers create ports for the Switch hardware they ARE a third-party developer on Switch.

#1 Has a vague possibility #2 Never going to happen

Nintendo and Microsoft couldn't even come to a deal over a Goldeneye remaster that was practically done, good luck with this.

There is almost no overlap from the games that are on GamerPass and the third-parties that Nintendo is currently selling through their own eShop.

Be my guest, comb through the GamePass selection and tell us how it would take away from Nintendo.

Nintendo will probably get Xbox games who could now trade-in their Xbox One S for a Switch.  Nintendo could be getting a small percentage of GamerPass revenue for every Switch that its on.

They're going to do a mix of both obviously, mostly XCloud app though for obvious reasons.

XCloud is just the same any third party, except with a different distribution method due to hardware limitations. That's it. They struck a deal with like any third party. The end.

Wow...........based on your reputation.................#2 is definitely going to happen.

In fact it HAS HAPPENED.

Ninja Theory is owned by Microsoft.

Hellblade is now a Microsoft property.

Ninja Theory is PORTING THEIR OWN GAME TO SWITCH HARDWARE. They are altering the game's code to work with different hardware. And Microsoft is clearly permitting this to happen.

It isn't just happening. It DID happen.

Hellblade was already a multiplatform game, it's on literally every platform but Switch. This is no different than what Mojang did with Minecraft. You're an idiot.

The moment that Phil Spencer was "promoted" to work alongside Microsoft's CEO and his inner executive circle.........I knew that they were going to tell Phil Spencer to change the direction of Xbox.

Microsoft has been...........and shall always be...........a SERVICES company. They don't commit to selling hardware unless they absolutely have to.

Ori is getting a native port. I can't wait for the spin when this is announced.

I can't wait for the spin when it doesn't happen. Oh wait there won't be any because there won't be some "gotcha" moment as this will be forgotten like the dozens and dozens of other rumors that fall flat.

You guys aim high and risk low because you know the back blast won't happen or this will be forgotten.

Nobody can deny that the Xbox division today is clearly heading in a different direction than the one they were alluding to as recently as 2016.

For fucks sakes.........Phil Spencer unveiled TWO DIFFERENT pieces of Xbox hardware at E3 2016. Phil Spencer was clearly committed to traditional console platform gaming.

The moment he got "promoted", this direction came to an abrupt stop, and it now became about a "universal platform" in which people can access "Xbox services."
