Nintendo and Microsoft had several meetings in Redmond regarding their upcoming partnership  

 

- They confirm Ori and the Blind Forest will come on the Swith, but Cuphead as well  

- More than 100 Xbox games will be available on Switch via Gamepass and/or X Cloud ( before the end of the year )

 - Rare games could also come to the Switch. No details, but jeuxvideo.com believes Rare Replay could be a good candidate.

 

 - No mention of Scalebound during their investigation  - Their sources refuses to say if Nintendo games could en up on Microsoft platforms  

 

- A High profile Microsoft franchise ( Halo, Forza or Gears ) could come on the Nintendo Switch. However, they don’t know in what capacity ( 360 port ? Xbox One game ? ). This is still under discussion between Microsoft and Nintendo.

As for Forza, Halo and Gears. You port the biggest franchise, which is obviously Halo, I think that's the most likely candidate. Especially Halo MCC, since it has a big online presence potential vs Gears. Something Nintendo would want to push online subs.


They probably want to build the audience up with ports/remasters for Halo, for Infinite's launch.

I assume MS won't even bother securing marketing deals for third party games soon, I mean whats the point of an XBox logo for some game, when fucking Halo is on other systems. Got to say the One fanbase has got to the be most used, and abused fanbase in console history. Zero fucks given about their core "fans" who made XBox what it is.

If this is going to happen it's really going to HAPPEN. Assuming this is real stuff being talked about Reggie absolutely resigned on the back of this and was replaced with someone who wants to/will handle this transition... Ironically a guy with the last name Bowser which is synonymous with the enemy and being evil... Reggie likely vehemently opposed this and ultimately left, this sounds like a Tom Kalinske level situation where the Japanese end is pushing their will and overriding Nintendo of America. Like Sega of Japan back in the day Nintendo of Japan are the ones pulling the strings. All these decisions being made about stuff with Xbox is approved by them. Nintendo of Japan are the ones talking about not being fixated on consoles, about being flexible with how the Nintendo experience is delivered, they're the ones approving Crossplay and Xbox Live on their platform etc.

 

I think both sides need to be prepared to get fucked on this from the fanboy side of things, but at the same time both would benefit greatly.
