Devil May Cry V's intro is probably my favorite intro of anything ever

I don't think the game is bad, I think the game is a disappointment. Itsuno hyped this up to be not only the best game in the series, but THE best Action game period. By saying this, he set my expectations high. He was throwing down the gauntlet and challenging Bayonetta. From everything I've experienced and seen, DMC V ain't got shit on Bayonetta. 

 

For all of his claims and hype, Itsuno just made a prettier DMC 4. DMC V feels dated and weak in the gameplay department. 

 

If you like the game, good for you. In case you didn't get the memo, my personal feelings on the game are not going to effect your enjoyment of it so have fun with it.

 

As for me, I'll be waiting for Sekiro. I'll pick up DMC V when it's cheap.

I am really enjoying the game, but I see Sabo's point.  To me, Bayonetta is still better gameplay-wise.  I'm also personally better at playing Bayo than this game, but I'm starting to get the hang of this one.  It's been a while since my last DMC game.

 

Also, now that I'm farther (just played for about 3h.  Some of the levels ARE pretty bland.  There's still just something that I really like about this game.  It's really well put together.

 

Next gen RE Engine is going to be just awesome.  At 1440p I get well over 200fps in this game... like FUCK.  If I lock the game to 60fps.. it uses like 36% of my GPU and the card barely has to work lmao.

Aside from the environmental blandness my biggest complaint is how segmented and broken up combat is. It gets really annoying having all of these hard cuts when you kill 2-3 guys then move to another area, get locked in kill 5-6 guys and then it hard cuts again...

 

The pacing and flow is an abomination.

That's pretty much all action games these days.  Shit gets segmented off until you kill all the enemies than you can progress again.

 

I agree that they need to change up the design a bit.  You can have those things.. but not every single encounter, and for just, like you say, 2-3 guys.

It's also kind of sad though.. because Sony was always the company that pushed for more mature games and was always more lenient on things like this.  With their new management... they're going down a road I'm not entirely happy with.
