my fondest memories were offline multiplayer. Especially with Smash Bros tournaments and the special FFCC on gamecube because you had to have a gameboy to play it so finding a 4 player team was rare, we would try toplay the entire game in one sitting.

And its amazing I will get to do more of that for years to come as a proud sheep :cmpunk1:TLHBO TCHBR THHBS

At our lans we also played console games. It was like 50 people max tho. besides classic CS, star craft, wc3, c&c, heroes of might and magic, and dota, we all played mario kart on n64. It was my favourite.

This thing kinda stopped to exist. I have no idea what went wrong.

Online infrastructure getting way better, newer generation of gamers who never needed to lan to get a multiplayer experience so they have no reference to it.

yeah, but that doesn't explain people turning their backs on lans. I have like a few people I can count on to make a "house lan" but that's it. A large event? Forget it, nobody cares.

you are right but it saddens me that the oldschool people aren't interested in lans for fun anymore.

ok people grow up, i get it but still....

find local tournaments. My "lan" parties would be with friends who i'd hang out with outside of video games.Cyber cafes are huge in South Korea, if you live near a big city, im sure they have those too

There are gaming tournaments everywhere but it's not the same as a lan. I miss the old days where it was about playing games not harsh competition.

I'd love to see a list of key events that happened after One X'd dropped
