So Stadia server blade consoles are 10.7 tflops, next gen sounds promising

Recommended Posts

Does that also mean that if a "next-gen" game releases, then all Google needs to do is to just have two GPUs running together to deliver something close to 20 TFLOPS?

If an nVidia GPU is churning out 13-14 TFLOPS, that's like the equivalent of 18 TFLOPS performance from an AMD gpu.

Software would have to be developed around this elastic GPU scaling. We all know how well SLI and CrossFire turned out.

They'll market the hardware but it will probably be shit since no same person is shoving a high powered PC. 4K 60fps my ass.

Also it seems they are using AMD not Nvidia.

The assumption that whatever google puts out is something Sony absolutely has to match is silly.  Google's hardware comes with latency issues in every game played.  Sony's doesn't, assuming it's a box.

It suggests that Google's cheap server blades will  not remotely have the same BoM as PS5. Which is unlikely. Especially if Sony goes for a lose on hardware.

The thing is, Amazon can scale up at any point of the gen too.  It's not static like PS5 hardware will be.

But you better hope that PS5 is more than 10TF :francis:

It's has artifacts no matter what according digital foundry, you can't get rid of those. Scale hardware is this serious.

What? :cosby2:

Also, how the fuck do they announce this and not announce any games or anything :D

It's a compromised image no matter what resolution you choose. Dave even admits it in the DF video in resetera.

Who's talking about that?

I'm talking about scaling up system performance... meaning if PS5/X2 come out and are decidedly more performant, then Google can just scale up to get the same games... or even better games in the future.. after PS5/X2 have been out for a while.

Instead of releasing a new console like MS and Sony would... they scale up their server hardware.

And relax... in 2 years.. with 5G, and better image compression and decoders IQ will be fine.  This isn't something that will remain as good as the here and now run of it....  It's like you idiots can't look to the future at all :D

Googles implementation?  Who knows...

Streaming?

Yes... it's absolutely the future.  Think long term Aza... :francis:

New from AMD's database, new chips. Works out to 13.8tflops. from a respectable leaker. Just interesting info. Question. Is how much do they downscale this.
