flazeda_warrior 73
No doubt Disney would start their own thing too. The negative of streaming services Imo, it defeats it's purpose
Hot Sauce 2,729
They act like Vudu doesn't exist, so this seems like a weird avenue for them.

Voidler 1,675
None of these pretenders will compete with Sony / MS who can launch a streaming license as part of the retail version you buy. Best of both worlds I expect some sort of major native Twitch integration in the next PS/XB based on the YouTube announcement too
jehurey 3,230
You know what they need to design? A distribution system where you buy a 128GB flash drive, and just buy your game at Walmart, Target, Best Buy, like a vending machine, and then plug in your flash drive (that has your console account info), and it downloads the game super fast onto it, and then you just insert that flash drive into a high-speed port on the console, and it just starts playing the game from the flash drive while it installs onto the permanent hard drive in the background. You still get the game on launch day It may not require online verification The stores still get customers to come to their store You don't have to spend a long time downloading the game online And publishers don't have to worry about committing to printing X million of copies of a game, distribution costs. The flash drive has your account info, if something happens to your console, you can buy another console and immediately transfer the account and game licenses over to the new console. If you lose the flash drive, you can buy another flash drive and synchronize it with your console. If someone steals your flash drive and tries to use it, it may have two-step verification by asking for a password. That is also how you would buy your game at the "vending machine" by verifying the purchase so that nobody buys something that you don't authorize. Hell you could rent games this way, the Redbox could be a vending machine to buy them digitally. Plug it in to the console, and the rental period begins, and then when it expires, the game disables itself and deletes itself. Don't have to return the disc.
