As far as consoles... This game is best on Pro confirmed.       Not only does pro have an higher avg frame rate...... it also actually hits 60fps as the highest frame rate.

2019 has been a disaster for the X so far, the thing isn't delivering on its huge promise in like 5 big games this year.

Literally every big game has been better on Pro so far this year.. what a fucking dud  :hest:

  • Double the resolution
  • Better shadows
  • Higher LoD's
  • Higher refresh rate capability
  • Freesync capability to reduce judder and tearing

Who cares if there's a 4 FPS difference if the framerate is wild and all over the place, neither comes close to 60, it should be locked down to 30 across the board. However for a framerate like this game has the only console that makes sense to play it on is the Xbox One X, it's the only one with the feature sets that can counter the negative effects of an uncapped framerate.

Meanwhile the 1X NEVER gets to 60fps not once :will:

PS4 pro has been outperforming 1X on a consistent basis so far in 2019

These tiny divergences are imperceptible not to mention there's system features on Xbox absent entirely on PlayStation which help correct for this stuff. I don't think you actually understand how effective increasing the refresh rate or FreeSync is in smoothing out judder and framerate swings. I don't know where your brain goes to where you think that running at half the resolution with worse shadows and LoD's equates to "outperforming" because there's a 4-5 FPS difference in framerate while you ignore everything else.

That's like pitting two 18-wheelers against each other with a mountain pass race and then loading one truck with 100,000 pounds of cargo and the other with 240,000 pounds of cargo. Is the former getting to the finish line first because it's outperforming the latter or because it's carrying a substantially lesser load? Use your head.

More than all of this it just shows the continued lack of intelligence or capability in coding in Japanese game development. Wild framerates which jump all over the place, no resolution adjustment to improve these wild framerates, no framerate cap, when a framerate cap is present there's horrible frame pacing... Does their incompetence know no bounds... They may produce some great games but their technical decision making and ability is pathetic.
