I always found it odd that these guys, who seem to act like tough men..........their plans always involve OTHER PEOPLE who are not them are REQUIRED to be fucking heroes.

Its like their research on this subject is from Clint Eastwood movies.

And, they also kind of PROVE that "assault weapons" are a real problem. Because they would know that arming a teacher with a simple glock is not remotely tactically smart for when they are under attack with a person with a semi-automatic rifle with 30-round mags that he's got two of taped end-to-end.

Hmmmm, it kind of almost makes it seem like those particular weapons are meant to attack a large group of people very quickly and efficiently. Like a weapon designed to perform an "assault".

The dumbest thing that these right-wing Americans were brainwashed was the idea of "pulling yourself up from your bootstraps."

Some of them genuinely believe that.

............even though the saying is a LITERAL punchline to a joke.

"pulling yourself up fron your bootstraps" is literally meant to describe an "impossible task"

You literally cannot pull yourself up from your bootstraps because you pull your feet up which prevents you from "pulling yourself up".

And these right-wing idiots parade around with that mentality and are proud to be "tough Americans" who "pull themselves up by their bootstraps."

yea impossible task is pretty accurate.

it's when people lie on the ground bleeding to death and some passerby tries to call an ambulance just for the victim to refuse because he has no money.

and then idiots like dyno think it's their fault in every case and they could avoid the situation all together.

dumericans with the no-help attitude are retarded. I hope dyno gets robbed and then he has a few accidents that leaves his family homeless.

What don't you retards understand about us being a Constitutional Republic? We're not socialist, we're not communists... Healthcare is a commodity and not a public good, we have plenty of lesser services and clinics in place for people who can't afford certain medical care.

The way we do things is fine for US, the way you do things may be fine for you but that has no application for an entirely different system of government.

Yeah everyone else here is posting from a Socialist country :mj:

FMD you're brainwashed to the core. American propoganda did a fucking number on you hard. Nearly all of us come from the same Democratic capitalistic type of countries, our Governments just allocate their budget differently.

Imagine not being ok with a country spending it's tax money on it's own citizens (through the no.1 most important thing, health) but okay with spending 700bn on the military :D

Here you go IRS, feel free to spend all my hard earned money on a few warships and bombs, don't you dare spend a cent of that on my health, I'll spend even more of my hard earned money on that too. :D Absolute cuck to your own government.

You're a socialist because your own money is being spent on you :grimaceright:

L.P.D.: Libertarian Police Department

By Tom O’Donnell

March 31, 2014

I was shooting heroin and reading “The Fountainhead” in the front seat of my privately owned police cruiser when a call came in. I put a quarter in the radio to activate it. It was the chief.

“Bad news, detective. We got a situation.”

“What? Is the mayor trying to ban trans fats again?”

“Worse. Somebody just stole four hundred and forty-seven million dollars’ worth of bitcoins.”

The heroin needle practically fell out of my arm. “What kind of monster would do something like that? Bitcoins are the ultimate currency: virtual, anonymous, stateless. They represent true economic freedom, not subject to arbitrary manipulation by any government. Do we have any leads?”

“Not yet. But mark my words: we’re going to figure out who did this and we’re going to take them down … provided someone pays us a fair market rate to do so.”

“Easy, chief,” I said. “Any rate the market offers is, by definition, fair.”

He laughed. “That’s why you’re the best I got, Lisowski. Now you get out there and find those bitcoins.”

“Don’t worry,” I said. “I’m on it.”

I put a quarter in the siren. Ten minutes later, I was on the scene. It was a normal office building, strangled on all sides by public sidewalks. I hopped over them and went inside.

“Home Depot™ Presents the Police!®” I said, flashing my badge and my gun and a small picture of Ron Paul. “Nobody move unless you want to!” They didn’t.

“Now, which one of you punks is going to pay me to investigate this crime?” No one spoke up.

“Come on,” I said. “Don’t you all understand that the protection of private property is the foundation of all personal liberty?”

It didn’t seem like they did.

“Seriously, guys. Without a strong economic motivator, I’m just going to stand here and not solve this case. Cash is fine, but I prefer being paid in gold bullion or autographed Penn Jillette posters.”

Nothing. These people were stonewalling me. It almost seemed like they didn’t care that a fortune in computer money invented to buy drugs was missing.

I figured I could wait them out. I lit several cigarettes indoors. A pregnant lady coughed, and I told her that secondhand smoke is a myth. Just then, a man in glasses made a break for it.

“Subway™ Eat Fresh and Freeze, Scumbag!®” I yelled.

Too late. He was already out the front door. I went after him.

“Stop right there!” I yelled as I ran. He was faster than me because I always try to avoid stepping on public sidewalks. Our country needs a private-sidewalk voucher system, but, thanks to the incestuous interplay between our corrupt federal government and the public-sidewalk lobby, it will never happen.

I was losing him. “Listen, I’ll pay you to stop!” I yelled. “What would you consider an appropriate price point for stopping? I’ll offer you a thirteenth of an ounce of gold and a gently worn ‘Bob Barr ‘08’ extra-large long-sleeved men’s T-shirt!”

He turned. In his hand was a revolver that the Constitution said he had every right to own. He fired at me and missed. I pulled my own gun, put a quarter in it, and fired back. The bullet lodged in a U.S.P.S. mailbox less than a foot from his head. I shot the mailbox again, on purpose.

“All right, all right!” the man yelled, throwing down his weapon. “I give up, cop! I confess: I took the bitcoins.”

“Why’d you do it?” I asked, as I slapped a pair of Oikos™ Greek Yogurt Presents Handcuffs® on the guy.

“Because I was afraid.”

“Afraid?”

“Afraid of an economic future free from the pernicious meddling of central bankers,” he said. “I’m a central banker.”

I wanted to coldcock the guy. Years ago, a central banker killed my partner. Instead, I shook my head.

“Let this be a message to all your central-banker friends out on the street,” I said. “No matter how many bitcoins you steal, you’ll never take away the dream of an open society based on the principles of personal and economic freedom.”

He nodded, because he knew I was right. Then he swiped his credit card to pay me for arresting him.

Maybe if you said that in the 1960s you'd have a point, right now it's quite literally the polar opposite. The American military has caused more harm than anyone else over the last 2 decades.

Nothing more third world than a citizen not being able to afford to go to a doctor, or have to choose to save a limb or not because they can't afford the cost or be rushed to emergency and not treated because he doesn't have insurance :mj: Even Aza in Russia is less third world than you :D

Oh bullshit, we're the global watchdog, we're the only country keeping tyranny in check and you know it.

Here's a concept, get a job which offers insurance, buy your own private insurance... There's plenty of options for people that don't result in my taxes increasing by 15-20%.

Actually if you do some HEAVY RESEARCH into our constitution.

And by heavy research I mean read halfway through the preamble of the Constitution, you would see that the United States government ITSELF is responsible for the "security" and the "general welfare" of the people.

Now, my knowledge of history is a bit sketchy...........but I do believe that a society of people, even back then in the 1700's, required medical attention for human beings to survive.

Who knows, maybe people were immortal back then.

You are so beyond help and so deep in delusion that it’s painful to read. That first sentence is so laughably bad. ‘Keeping tyranny in check’ LMAO holy fuck. I could list a litany of ways where it’s the complete opposite. You know who was keeping tyranny in check? Saddam in Iraq, Gaddafi in Libya, yeah using tyranny but it was very much a lesser evil. America absolutely destroyed all that and unleashed full tyranny and both those countries are an utter mess. Not to mention the entire Middle East.

Everything you post in other threads about Islamic threats and being anti Islam, well guess what. No one has supported jihadists more than the American government. Gave them financial aid, equipment and more importantly displaced those keeping them in check. All Islamic rebels funded by the US, those that became ISIS, all the full extremists they supported against Assad in syria. Your tax money has been spent to support Islam extremists more than your health and that of your citizens and you’re here actually being happy about.

And suicide is something that is contagious.

Now, the father of one of the first-graders who got shot up in the Sandy Hook massacre back in 2012 has killed himself in an apparent suicide.  He leaves behind his wife, and they still have two other kids.

Sandy Hook Father Dies in Apparent Suicide

Jeremy Richman was the father of first-grader Avielle Richman, who died in the 2012 school massacre.

03.25.19 11:21 AM ET

The father of a first-grade girl who was killed in the Sandy Hook school shootings died in an apparent suicide Monday morning, Newtown Police confirmed.

Jeremy Richman, 49, was found dead at 7 a.m. inside Edmond Town Hall, where he had an office space, police told The Daily Beast. Authorities said the medical examiner’s office is still investigating the exact cause of death.

A neuropharmacologist, Richman co-founded the Avielle Foundation after his first-grade daughter, Avielle Richman, died in the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. The 6-year-old was among the 20 first-grade students and six administrators killed.

“This is a heartbreaking event for the Richman Family and the Newtown community as a whole, the police department’s prayers are with the Richman family right now, and we ask that the family be given privacy in this most difficult time,” Lt. Aaron Bahamonde said in a statement. “The death appears to be a suicide but police will not disclose the method or any other details of  the death, only to state the death does not appear suspicious.”

Richman and his wife, Jennifer Hensel, created the Avielle Foundation, which was dedicated to funding research into the neuroscience behind compassion and violence.

In a 2017 interview with NPR, Richman talked about the emptiness the couple felt after they lost their only child. “It was like a ghost limb syndrome, you know, where you keep thinking ‘Where’s Avielle? Do we need to pick her up?’” he said. “And every day you’d have this [realization] that I don’t have a child, and I don’t have to parent. That was just brutal.”

Richman and Hensel ultimately had two more children.

In another 2017 interview with the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, Richman talked about how each new mass shooting roiled his emotions.

“Right after Newtown we had the Boston bombings, and then we’ve had Charleston, Orlando and over a hundred school shootings, some of which make the national news and some don’t,” he said. “Every time this happens it breaks a heart and it chokes us up. To be honest, though, now it comes with a fair degree of frustration and anger, because things aren’t changing fast enough. I really get sick of ‘thoughts and prayers,’ and ‘our hearts go out.’ That’s not going to change anything. What I need to hear is: ‘My heart is broken, and my boots are on the ground to fix it.’”

According to the Hartford Courant, Richman–a trained scientist who also lectured at Yale University—had hosted an event at Town Hall earlier this month with author Brené Brown that several Sandy Hook families attended.

“He had such a clear purpose of what he wanted to do to honor his daughter,” one family member told the newspaper. “I’m just shocked. I’m sitting in my car right now crying. The foundation was doing really important work and was doing such good things.”

Richman and Hensel were among the parents who sued InfoWars’ Alex Jones for perpetuating the cruel claim that the massacre was a hoax and that the children’s parents were “crisis actors.” Just last week, a judge ordered Jones to turn over a trove of emails and other documents to the families.

This country used to have the guts to fix things, to change them for the better. That how America became known as the greatest country in the world.

Gun control laws that place much higher requirements and continuing requirements for purchasing and continuing to own semi-automatic rifles.

Grandfather those who already have them, but add contuing requirements for gun training and renewing registration. And ban the sale of semi-automatic rifles to everybody else.

Let the remaining semi-automatic rifles on the market be sold between private owners, however impose strict regulations on how they can be sold (hence the renewing registration, you have to tell the government that you either still have possession of it or have sold it, like a car).

Completely ban high-capacity magazines, limit them to no more than 8 rounds.

And pass single-payer healthcare across the nation, because mental health checkups should be mandatory beginning at a young age. School districts should require mental health examinations like they require vaccinations, beginning when they are young.

Create a database in which mental health professionals can access people's mental health records over a long period of time. And make that mental health database a factor in determine whether a person can apply for a gun license, and people who live at the registered household also have their mental health record checked. So, you could be perfectly fine and healthy, but if there is a family member who had a red flag, then your gun purchase may be rejected, or you may have more restrictions placed on you for buying the gun (mandatory gun safe is required, or gun lock).

And make gun training mandatory for all gun owners. If anything I'd say that if you have to pass a driving test to get a drivers license, you have to pass a gun training course for ANY gun purchase. Make those be low-cost and offered by local police departments.
