lynux3 2,052
Jason Schreier says Sony revealed features of the PS5 last week because they knew leaks would start popping up. Apparently dev kits are rolling out to developers now. Essentially they wanted to beat them to the punch and to get everyone talking about next generation before Microsoft did. Playstation Tablet 1,725
That would be an absolute beast if true, though I'm not really sure if it's true.
lynux3 2,052
I'm starting to think that Sony may be using something similar to AMD's Radeon Pro SSG in order to get the load times and streaming speed we've seen so far. This guy is associated with the Khronos Group (Vulkan, etc.). From what I could find the on board NAND can produce up to 6GB/s. https://www.amd.com/en/products/professional-graphics/radeon-pro-ssg Assuming Microsoft doesn't have something equivalent the comparisons between next-gen PlayStation and Xbox Anaconda will be fun. lynux3 2,052
Looks like Sony has been working on possibly bringing the next generation PlayStation to the data center or looking at ways to improve PS Now. http://www.freepatentsonline.com/y2019/0174155.html
Playstation Tablet 1,725
Renting Azure GPU power is probably more cost efficient than shoving PS5s into racks.
