Digital Foundry - Saint's Row the Third on Switch... ouch

Switch is 157 GF undocked, 394 docked and Wii U was 176 under a completely different architecture...

Then why does Bayo2 look and run better on switch undocked than it does on WiiU? :|

We're talking about a developer that is more or less defunct, Volition, and Deep Silver is attempting to make a Switch port and not using a porting company to do it.

Yeah, that doesn't surprise me.

It's obviously a case of a game that was ported with as little optimization as possible, with an engine tailored to vastly different hardware.. more than any real commentary on the Switch's capabilities.  Built from the ground up SR3 on Switch would smash the PS3/360 versions.

But still... it's another janky port :francis:

Because FLOPS alone are not the end all be all of system performance, and trying to compare them across radically different GPU architecture is pointless.

But you are saying both WiiU and Switch have less FLOPS than 360?

In handheld for Switch and the Wii U in general? Yes.

LOL no.

We already know that an nVidia floating point operation utterly wipes its ass with AMD flop performance.

The Switch in handheld mode is comfortably more powerful than an X360.  Even you know this.

To add to this Maxwell mobile architecture =/= Maxwell desktop architecture.

Nope............you tried establishing your way out whenever people pointed to the obvious.

Maxwell architecture performs the same per FLOP.

Unless you want to show me Unreal Engine 4 running on X360.........because that's exactly what nVidia did on the Tegra X1.

Switch Handheld mode is COMFORTABLY more powerful than the X360, its not up for debate.

Show me something, anything that states Maxwell mobile is architecturally in line with their desktop architecture.

And it is up for debate, new feature sets which make modern rendering practices possible don't equate to said hardware being more capable in old.

Thank you:blessed:

That's as a result of hardware feature sets you flippant moron, that has nothing to do with computational brute force.

Nope, it runs consistent with its FLOPS output compared to the large die nvidia GPUs.

You have no idea what you're talking about, this is about as stupid and in line with your whole anisotropic filtering speel.
