Remij 5,047
They went live and forgot to restart the stream, meaning all the practicing they've been doing was still continued and if you watch it and "rewind" you can see their practice runs. LMAO. From just a couple things I saw they're bumping up the core counts for gaming. The 12 core CPU is apparently 20% faster than Intel's competing CPU. Games apparently perform much better. They said something about Gen4 PCIe improving FPS in games. They'll show PUBG (which they say is notoriously hard to get high framerates in) running really fast. lmao.. they JUST cut the stream and now the vid is unavailable! The info's already out there though. Looks like the 12 core is my next cpu

lynux3 2,460
AMD says GCN is dead. Starts with Navi. Edited May 27, 2019 by lynux3
lynux3 2,460
So RX 5700 is 10% faster than RTX 2070. No mention of ray-tracing support, though. Edited May 27, 2019 by lynux3

Strange Brigade is a heavily AMD favored title. Will have to wait for June 10th to know more obviously.

Remij 5,047
That's probably a fair approximation of the GPU power of the next gen consoles.

DynamiteCop 2,161
It really does seem like AMD is turning everything around, it's nice to see my favorite company coming back to a serious point of contention with their rivals.

Maybe the 8 shader core per CU is true? In that case, while not *completely* new.. it would give reason enough to call it a different architecture. 64 thread wavefronts to now 32 thread. They can more efficiently thread the CUs.

Also, it sounds like MS and AMD have a really strong relationship now. But the lack of mentioning RT sucks. It'll probably be on their architecture upgrade. It does seem like they're turning themselves around on all fronts though. Good shit.
