DynamiteCop 2,085
With this streaming and technology partnership Sony and Microsoft have formed it got me thinking. What if they jointly developed their hardware instead of went about it as a head to head venture? This would allow them both to offer their separate platforms and experiences to their users on the outside just as it is now but it would also allow them to put a single device into Azure racks which could be parsed to either consumer base on the fly for game streaming. Could that theoretically be a reality?

The Mother Fucker 26
I pity the fool who pour money into lock box money pits, e.g. game consoles. Just upgrade your PC hardware and play the latest and greatest games. Edited June 2, 2019 by The Mother Fucker

jehurey 3,227
Considering that the Playstation hardware team literally said that the news from last week was completely unknown to them. ...........................no, absolutely nothing you said is remotely true nor possible. Its funny that your desperate-ass is thinking it, tho.

Playstation Tablet 1,725
It's very possible that the retail hardware will be very different, but they will be able to virtualised both machines in the Cloud on one system. Cheaper, less systems needed, less non active systems sitting there, it makes sense. Edited June 2, 2019 by Team 2019

Playstation Tablet 1,725
The PS5 is too far into development to change, this thing has been in design since 2015 and the APU is too far in the process of finalization. But it any cloud hardware will probably be co developed. I doubt PSNOW is going to have that hardware till 2021 anyways.

Desperate into think Sony is conceding the hardware market to become a third-party cloud publishing company. That's what you are desperate to hope that's happening. Because Microsoft is turning into a third-party publisher. Except they can't even afford to publish PHYSICAL third party retail discs, they're a third-party digital publisher. On the level of D3 Publishing and Devolver Digital.
