So this speculative system you've been defending is vapourware? :troll:

I hope you're not talking to me, I've been dismissing its existence and have since been vindicated.

PS5 being more powerful is just a possibility, while Anaconda was supposed to absolutely nail it no doubt. Now you got retarded architecture conspiracy theories of hopes and dreams as to why both won't be borderline the same system. It's down to secret sauces, that's when you know a new low has been reached.

The win of either side will be a token win with no real world performance advantages. So it's just a "prestige" win at this point, it's more of my team got this, rather than wow this shit makes a real difference.

In a way the nuclear level backfire already occurred. People were sure that Anaconda was going to be more powerful than the next-gen PlayStation no matter what. Xbox has the "sky is the limit" budget so no way Anaconda would be weaker... then we start hearing from highly reliable sources that it's actually the opposite. Before no one was complaining about it, but now all the sudden the lemmings come out of the wood works crying and coming up with baseless bullshit like PS5 will have last gen Navi, PS5 won't support HW RT, Scarlett will use a more powerful than Navi Vega GPU, 12C/24T Zen 2, Zen 3, Arcturus, etc.

It's a full on meltdown and so many self proclaimed "neutral" observers in the console wars have been outed after hearing about the next-gen PlayStation > Anaconda in terms of power.

You guys are having a meltdown right now doing everything you can to convince yourselves PS5 is more powerful :hest:

We're just going off hearsay just like everyone else. So far I'm not hearing anything about Anaconda being more powerful.

It's not secret sauce, there could be a genuine architectural difference whether created by AMD or Microsoft.

Microsoft already confirmed HW accelerated RT, Sony has not, they've simply talked about 3D audio in regards to RT.

Now there's three scenarios for Microsoft's confirmation of HW accelerated RT.

  • They over-engineered their GPU and will be using dedicated CU's for pushing RT
  • They developed their own auxiliary hardware to accelerate it which will not consume CU's
  • They were a longer holdout than Sony in the development process and were able to procure RDNA 7nm+ which is HW accelerated

Those are Microsoft's potential outcomes for what they're doing. The first is extremely unlikely, the second is quite possible but the third is the most probable. What has been coming out relating to Microsoft's system for months? That Sony may have a power advantage but Microsoft's system is more advanced, this gives even further credence to the third outcome.

Also if the third outcome is in fact the reality the PlayStation 5 on paper could read as more powerful but due to architectural difference which makes up the deficit that might not be what comes to pass. A perfect example of this confusion in a vacuum is a 12.58 Tflop Vega 64 with 64 CU's being the power comparative to a 9.75 Tflop 5700XT with 40 CU's, on paper if you didn't understand the architectural differences the Vega would be confused as being more powerful when it's actually not.

^ See. This is more baseless non sense that the lemmings have to peddle in order to feel better about it. :D

It's not baseless, it's based upon what has been said by not only people proclaiming it's more advanced but Microsoft talking about HW accelerated RT which as of right now exclaims their system as more advanced relative to what Sony has said.

Even in the resetera next gen thread this shit was shutdown, no one is even posting these hopes and dreams because they got debunked by Matt. Plus the whole thing is just pure nonsense at this point, the mental gymnastics are real.

Matt is nobody.

There's been no credible source saying Anaconda or next-gen PlayStation is going to be more advanced in that specific area or any other area for that matter. Therefore, it is baseless.

HW accelerated vs. 3D audio, for what is known it's already confirmed as more advanced.

Yeah and Cerny didn't mention memory type, so PS5 is all HBM instead of GDDR6. Makes sense.

To the non XBox crowd the whole thing is a joke, and a sign of a complete meltdown.

Or Scarlett is 6 cores CPuwise.

All you can talk about is Xbox coming to PlayStation, Xbox coming to Switch, Xbox being weaker than PS5 predicated on dev kits (which Albert Panello already shut down) and Matt from ResetEra.

That's the basis of your existence, who'd having a meltdown?

The last time Sony launched the same time and price as XBox, PS4 was 25 smaller, 40 percent more powerful than One. But that doesn't count cause reasons.

Then MS launches a system one year later and at 100 dollars more. Yet that means MS can magically outperform PS5 without a doubt at the same price and launch. Cause reasons.

The mental gymnastics here are on the lemming side.

This is why no one can take you seriously when it comes to hardware discussion because you inject the baseless shit in your argument to steer the narrative you wish reality reflected on. Unfortunately for you, that's not the case.

The author specifically noted that the question was based around alternative applications for ray tracing of which 3D audio was one of them.

He made additional comments on Twitter that suggest hardware accelerated ray tracing and Matt has already confirmed hardware accelerated ray tracing for the next-gen PlayStation. What are you going to conjure up when Sony comes out and officially confirms it?

That doesn't suggest anything of the sort. :mj:
