DynamiteCop 2,085
Told ya, they'll pickup and move. Microsoft and Sony are reportedly looking to reduce console production in China amid the ongoing trade war waged by US president Donald Trump. As reported by Nikkei Asian Review, sources close to the issue claim multiple tech giants such as Google and Amazon, are looking to scale back their game tech and smart speaker production in China. The news comes just weeks after it was reported Nintendo was partially pulling Switch production from China.Speaking with Nikkei Asian Review, one supply chain executive said:"The industry consensus is to move an average of some 30% of production out of China depending on how important the US market is... Everyone needs to come up with a plan." https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2019-07-05-microsoft-and-sony-reportedly-scaling-back-console-production-in-china
Goukosan 2,249
Reducing is not picking up and moving. Picking up and moving would be moving 100% of manufacturing out of China. China will still account for the lion share, close to 90% will still be out of China. Edited July 5, 2019 by Goukosan

jehurey 3,227
Basically, they'll probably just take all consoels that were already manufactured and send them to America so that there's sufficient stock for the next 12 months, and then any consoles that are currently manufactured in China right now will be to replenish stock in territories outside of America. They might prepare a manufacturing line in another country if the tariff bullshit is still going on Fall 2020. LOL, don't know how anybody won't interpret this as anything other than something that is going to cost the consumer when its all said and done.
102020393023445948594 2,223
wonder if this will lead to better or worse build quality in consoles. Sony desperately needs to make their hardware more premium. Abysmal quality of components all over the PS4
