We're now in preseason gents. Only a month until real football.

Also anyone following what's going on with Antonio Brown? :D

He's now saying he's not going to play at all if he doesn't get to wear a different helmet. Dude can play but is cancer to any team. I kind of wanted the 49ers to try to get him but I think Oakland is right where he belongs. Keep in mind all of this will probably be on Hard Knocks since the Raiders are the team on there this year. :roff:

Damn, anyone looked into this story of Damon Sheey-Guiseppi (WR) for the Browns?

His Goal waso play pro ball (NBA) so he figures he'll start at a JUCO college, play his ass off, get noticed and selected by a smaller D1 team; win as the underdog, get noticed so you can get NBA scouts to get you going into the league by signing 10 day contracts, work your way onto a bench of a team due to injuries, and play your ass off until you get a legit contract...

Well then let me break down this incredible story, no seriously; it is ridiculous.

Spoiler

- Didn't make the college basketball team.

- Tried out for the track team, and does make it.
- Gets into a car accident.
- Rehabs his injuries and hears about Phoenix College.

- Knows he's fast, but can't really run football reps for Offense/Defense, well due to no experience w/ reps.

- Due to his speed get selected for special teams.

- Puts up 1200 & 1274 yards respectively in the first two years in college; highest in the nation.

- Applies for a credit card to drive around to colleges to show off his tape, while max'ing it out.

- Can't get any teams to watch, until one does, but he's 9 credits short of being accepted academically.

Cut to: Figures he'll turn pro.

- NFL shows no interest.

- CFL's annual tryouts in Vegas, no interest.

- Arena League, no interest.

- End ups playing flag football...

- Through the guys on the flag team, he hears from a guy who knows a guy, that Cleveland is having Invite-Only tryouts in Miami.

- Repeatedly asks the guy for the information on this tryout; tells him "bruh, it's INVITE ONLY".

- Eventually, because this Damon kid is relentless the guy gives up the info and tells him the address.

- Also mentions, you should look for Alonzo Highsmith. (former NFL player, VP of Cleveland's Player Personnel)

- Pretends to know who he is when he shows up and somehow gets through.

- Figures he best find Alonzo A.S.A.P. due to the deception he's pulled off.

- Alonzo's impressed by his story, and determination so figure's well after all that, at least a tryout right?

- Runs a 4.38 for them in the 40 yard dash, which was in the top 5 of wide-receivers for the 2019 draft.

- 30 minutes later, Alonzo calls him to say they've invited him to Official tryouts, in Cleveland.

 *Problem Arises*

- Dude's Broke AF at this point

- Sleeps at a 24 hours gym, and charges his phone at the laundromat for an entire week

- Impresses the coaching staff, during drills and signs a free agent contract as a Rookie

Alonzo Highsmith on Damon:

Quote

"It doesn't happen very often trust me," Highsmith said of Sheehy-Guiseppi's path to the Browns. "I've been in this 22 years now and that doesn't happen very often. And the chances of him making the team are even slimmer... But if he does it'll be one the greatest stories of all time."

Well he just did this last night. :omg:

Man, this helmet thing is rather insane...

Repainted his old helmet to 'close enough' colours to try and sneak it back in? :kaz:

Tries it again... :|  :D

Can't get enough of Hard Knocks?

Cleveland is making their own version of it, which is very well produced, and due to their recent acquisitions - and draft picks; should make for an exciting team (lmao, when's the last time someone said that about the Browns) or a dysfunctional reality show if they fail to live up to their (self-admitted) lofty expectations.

Adrian Peterson deep in debt despite earning $99m after 'trusting wrong people'

Quote

Financial problems continue to mount for Washington running back Adrian Peterson, who is being sued for failure to repay a $5.2m loan, according to a report published on Tuesday in The Athletic.

Peterson is involved in three lawsuits and owes $6.6m (which included interest and legal fees) to DeAngelo Vehicle Sales, the company that filed the latest lawsuit in New York, according to The Athletic. He also owes a combined $3m to two other creditors.

Quote

Peterson has earned $99m in his 12-year career. The seven-time Pro Bowler’s 13,318 rushing yards are the eighth-most in NFL history. Peterson, who agreed in March to a two-year deal with Washington worth up to $5m that also includes annual incentives of $1.5m, enters training camp on Wednesday in competition with Derrius Guice for the starting job.

My local sports radio has a small game they play called "would you switch bank accounts with [Sports athlete] when they're 50?" and its always hilarious seeing them try to make a guess as to which guy is going to blow their money.

Please, for the love of God, have the Cowboys just utterly fail so bad that Jerry Jones has no choice but to fire everybody and start over.

It'd be great if they failed so bad that Jerry just gets so demoralized and steps down from being the GM. But we're going to start seeing his son, Stephen Jones, in front of the camera more. That damn family will never relinquish control of the team.

Jerry Jones is the Cowboy's problem.  He should fire himself
