Despite the acquisition, Double Fine confirmed that Psychonauts 2 will still be releasing on PlayStation 4 and PC. During the interview (which you can watch above), we asked Booty whether Microsoft would be open to Double Fine releasing more multiplatform games after Psychonauts 2.

 

“Yeah, I think we would,” says Booty. “I think that the question is less binary about ‘Should it be on Switch? Should it be on PlayStation?’ And more ‘Does it make sense for the franchise?’ In other words, is it a kind of game where it would benefit from the network effect of being on a bunch of different platforms? Or is it a game where we can best support it by putting resources [into it] and making sure that our platforms, things like xCloud, Game Pass, and Xbox Live are really leaning in to support the game.”

you really have to wonder what the hell is happening behind the scenes at MS. Can ConMan Phil really pull off a bait and switch of this caliber  time and time again?

 

His fans asked desperately for new first party studios, so he buys a bunch of multiplat studios to keep making multiplats?

well halo certainly makes sense on playstation, they'll need to do it to keep up with Destiny which has currently made halo irrelevant.

 

Hopefully a Switch halo title will come as well, really enjoying doom 3 on switch, would like to play more fps like the good bungie halo's.
