Sony won't even announce GT Sport's sales, they moved to players, they've announced sales for every other GT game except this one.

Meanwhile, it's been leaked that Gran Turismo Sport is sitting somewhere over 5.3 million units just over a year ago. That Daniel Loeb hedge fund manager's meeting with Sony Corp. this year revealed 8 million units sold and 9 million players (est.).

No we actually back tracked that entire thing on Neogaf, like 20 people took part in it, and it was all a misconstrued player figure being represented as a sale figure.

There's not even 8 million player profiles so give me a break, this is a third party estimation and it's not even close and the fact that they cite VGChartz for ANY data they arrive at which uses an algorithm for speculating sales is a tell all as to how they conduct their research. VGChartz data is banned here as far as I'm aware.

The reality is there's about 7.8 million profiles which realistically means this game has maybe sold 5 million, maybe, the fact that they haven't announced 5 million sales though is questionable because they were sure proud to announce 5 million player profiles. Most people have friends, and family and they play games together and GT has generally been a pretty communal multiplayer experience. Guess what if you ever want to or have played the game in multiplayer there's two profiles right there as the other person needs to sign into a second one, or if a family member or friend has their own profile and play the game solo there's another right there.

This is extremely common, no doubt 1/3 to 1/2 of those profiles are redundancies for a second or third person and so on.

Also nobody is fooled by anything you're saying, you're the guy who actually tried to push that GTS was a better looking game than Forza Horizon 4 by posting a bunch of photomode and scapes bullshit, never in game and there's a reason for that. Hell, you got so bad in that thread posting bullshit photomode stuff you were restricted from posting in it further.

No what's happened is as Matty said you forgot to subtract beta profiles and whatever idiot wrote this report looked at the profile count (which is near 8 millIon) and listed that as estimated game sales.
