DynamiteCop 2,085 Posted October 3, 2019 Share Posted October 3, 2019 Following the news that Sony Interactive Entertainment's chairman for Worldwide Studios, Shawn Layden, has left the company, Sony's Japanese branch is undergoing a shakeup of its own. According to a Gematsu report, Atsushi Morita has retired "due to age." Morita served as SIE Japan Asia's president and SIE's corporate director. Kazuhiko Takeda, who was named the company's deputy president and CFO in July 2018, will serve as the new corporate director. Morita worked as VP of administration and control, as well as several other roles, before taking the presidential and CEO position in 2014. This is a normal type of leaving cause reason given plus successor announced in official statement. The Layden one was weird cause it had none of those things. The people that have led the charge for this platform basically since its inception have one by one left for one reason or another. The old guard, the people that made PlayStation what it is are basically all gone and several of them have left this generation alone, two in just the last week.
