it was pretty good.   also cements batman as a completely unlikable super hero. fuck that rich prick and his shitty parents.

Just got back from it.   It was fucking incredible. Probably the perfect Joker movie and I'll probably like it more the more time passes.   It was incredibly shot (can't believe To

Gonna rewatch as part of a week of Scorsese leading up to Irishman.

I'm seeing it tomorrow at a nice local theater with recliners and food ordering with some friends.

Had alot of shit going on this weekend, and I didn't feel like sitting in a packed theater with seats that wouldn't be in the center.

all of the theaters in broward (south florida) have assigned, reclining seats. the theater experience has evolved so much now.

but yeah, we have the dine n' watch theaters too. are you going to Ipic or cinebistro?

We don't have those theater chains in North Texas. We have Studio Movie Grill (older chain) and we have a couple of Alamo Drafthouses (awesome chain).

I'm going to the Studio Movie Grill because I actually like their smaller auditoriums, and they have alot of leg space and its easier to call a waiter during the middle of a movie. The only downside is the food isn't as good as Alamo.

Oh, I just did a quick google search and there's an Ipic about 25 minutes north of me. I should try that place out, it seems more upscale.

I should go there sometime.

OH, I've been driving past this construction site really fucking close to my house, and I started thinking that it might be a movie theater, and with some google searching I have confirmed that its a place called Strike + Reel that's a combo bowling alley and dine-in movie theater. Once i saw them constructing that vertical piece, I know it had to be something like a movie theater. That place will be perfect for me, just 5 minutes away.

dude...ipic is sick! they even got blankets (or you can bring your own). it takes the chill factor of watching a movie in bed, the dining aspect of going to a restaurant, while giving you a top tier movie theater experience.

Damn, I'm thinking maybe I should try and book tickets to The Irishman there.

It'd be awesome if it does what Alamo Drafthouse and do the "authentic" movie-snob 35mm expeirence. I'll look into this more because tickets to The Irishman should be going up soon, and I want the perfect experience.

Does anyone have a stream to this movie yet?

I hope GD gets stuck in a shooting at the theatre.

There are a lot of cam streams. For a few days. I downloaded the biggest version I could find last night. It was bearable apart from that 1Xbet masterb8.com casino ads that pop up.

I liked it more than I think I would but I didn't find it as amazing as you guys. I'm not what you would call a Batman fan that follows the stories or movies so maybe that's why. Or I just expected too much with all the hype. I didn't find him to be as convincing as he should have been. He did a good job, but someone else would have done it better I think.

My only criticism is that It also felt like the movie didn't know what it wanted to be sometimes.

A comic book movie? A movie about mental illness? A movie about a loner? A movie about a city? A movie about politics? Normally, all these themes would overlap fine in a movie. But here the focus felt a little bit jumbled and fragmented.

I liked it, but don't think it's for everyone.

This is valid. It’s definitely not a perfect film.  However, I think it resonated with me so much because I have always thought the joker was the best comic book villain. Also,  JP killed it! The movie was also incredibly shot. I noticed the film work even more tonight (my second viewing). Each frame captured the atmosphere of Its respective scene, whether it  was Gotham’s filthy, urban anarchist playground, or the surreal beauty of the vividly colored madness in Arthur’s head.

What the fuck is up with the reviews for this movie? Can't a movie just be enjoyed for its story and acting and not have it twisted into something political?

...just too easy

Fair to say the movie has been a giant success:

Just as it has domestically, Warner Bros/Village Roadshow/Bron Studios’ Joker has come in higher in the overseas weekend actuals — and even higher than what we were hearing earlier this morning. A huge jump of $11.7M more than projected yesterday has lifted the international box office total to $152.2M through Sunday. With North America’s tally, the worldwide weekend gross grows to $248.2M.

In the Sunday estimates (see below), Joker had already come in way ahead of cautious projections to break opening records for the month of October domestically, internationally and globally. With today’s updated figures, the origins story puts further distance between itself and last year’s Venom which was the previous record holder.

Yeah, the aesthetics were beautiful. They especially nailed Arkham Asylum, Arthur's apartment, and the trains.

I almost wish the movie were longer and depicted Arthur just going about his day in the city doing normal things like going to a therapist or going grocery shopping lol. Would love to be a fly on the wall in his life. Maybe they should do a show.
