They probably want to do it to see if an online game is used for Chinese people are sending anything that is anti-China amongst themselves, or from/to the outside world.

 

They probably don't have the manpower to monitor everything, but they want to register their names so that they can scare them into not attempting to do or say anything that might run counter to the Chinese government.

China is not communist. The only support of that statement is that China says this period of state capitalism is temporary and is building towards communism, which is pretty ridiculous to believe.
